Darren helps Harry and his friends uncover the danger to the Philosopher’s Stone, then shields them as they confront Voldemort beneath Hogwarts. After the Stone is destroyed, Darren reconciles with Dumbledore and leaves school with Harry, bound for Aunt Petunia’s home over the summer.

As the Chamber of Secrets mystery begins, Darren encounters the Basilisk and reports the danger to Dumbledore and Snape while concealing his secrets.

  • Snape recalled Darren’s role in the Philosopher’s Stone crisis, including taking the Cruciatus Curse for Harry, and Dumbledore urged Snape to treat Harry more kindly.
