Sunset Forest Trial

Bibi Dong sends Hu Liena to survive for five days in Sunset Forest’s deep-edge region and kill a ten-thousand-year Spirit Beast. Two days into the assignment, wolf bandits surround her. Already injured and increasingly outnumbered, she prepares to self-destruct rather than be captured. Su Changqing intervenes, defeats the attackers and their leader, and treats her injuries in a cave 11 12 13.

She agrees to travel with him but insists that she should complete her teacher’s assignment herself, allowing intervention only when either companion faces mortal danger. This determination leads her to challenge an injured Man Faced Demon Spider with nearly twenty thousand years of cultivation. Her strongest attack exhausts her without killing it; Su Changqing rescues her from its counterattack and finishes the beast 13.

A Soul Hunting Team then attempts to seize the spider’s Soul Bone. Hu Liena fights several Soul Ancestors but eventually becomes wounded and disadvantaged, requiring Su Changqing’s help. Afterward, she declines his offer of the Soul Bone and collects parts of the spider’s corpse as proof of completing her trial 14 15 16.

Bringing Su Changqing to Martial Soul Hall
