Background

Su Changqing was born to servants of the Feng clan in Heaven Dou City. After his parents died, Feng clan patriarch Feng Tianxiang continued raising him. At six, Su awakened Innate Full Soul Power and a seemingly weak light-attribute rabbit Martial Soul; Su himself recognizes it as the light-element elf Mirai. Prince Xue Qinghe immediately took interest in the unusual Martial Soul and offered to take Su into the palace, but Su politely declined to avoid becoming a political pawn. 1

Feng Tianxiang personally led Su's first Soul Ring hunt in the Star Dou Great Forest. Su displayed an overwhelming bloodline suppression effect against the Rainbow Plume Phoenix, killed it himself, and successfully absorbed its approximately 570-year ring. Rather than enter Heaven Dou Royal Academy, where Qian Renxue could more easily watch him, Su enrolled at Nuoding Academy for experience. 2 3

At Nuoding, Su became a work-study student alongside Tang San and Xiao Wu. He defeated Tang San repeatedly, exposed his lethal intent during a spar, and used his influence with Director Bai to have Tang San transferred from the dormitory area. Su later graduated at level 30, gave Xiao Wu a Thousand Year Divine Concealment Flower, and left to obtain stronger Soul Rings. 4 6 8

In Sunset Forest, Su rescued Hu Liena from Wolf Bandits and traveled with her to Martial Soul City. He became Bibi Dong's personal disciple but refused formal membership in Martial Soul Hall, insisting that independence and danger were necessary for his growth. 11 12 27

After graduating from Martial Soul Hall Academy as a Soul King, Su returned to Heaven Dou City and built a winning streak at the Great Soul Arena under the name “Radiance.” His victories drew the attention of Qian Renxue, the Imperial Fighting Team, and Dugu Bo. He is confident in battle and willing to provoke opponents into revealing their strengths, but he does not seek fights merely for status. He is also pragmatic and ruthless when facing enemies who attempt murder or betrayal, as shown by his execution of Chen Liang after the latter tried to poison him. 12 15 16

Despite this ruthlessness, Su protects people he considers allies. He heals Xiao Wu and Wang Sheng, saves Hu Liena, shares valuable resources with her, and seeks a cure for Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan despite Dugu Bo initially trying to kill him. 7 11 16 38 41
