When Mystogan reached the forest, he stopped and looked back.
"Don't you trust me?"
"Not at all." Cain stepped out from behind a large tree. He was not surprised that Mystogan had noticed him; after all, he had never intended to hide.
"I only came because I was curious."
"Curious?" Mystogan looked at Cain in confusion.
"Yeah. Why did you want to join Fairy Tail?"
Cain voiced his doubt. In his view, Mystogan had come from Edolas to stop Anima.
If Mystogan had joined the guild to seek everyone's help and hoped they could stop Anima together,
then Cain would have thought there was nothing wrong with that. It would have made perfect sense.
But after joining the guild, Mystogan had remained the same as before, always stopping Anima alone.
That left Cain puzzled. Since joining the guild or not joining it made no difference, why join at all? It could not have been for the job rewards, could it?
Hearing Cain ask why he had joined the guild, Mystogan fell silent for a moment before speaking.
"Because Fairy Tail is a very good guild."
"So that's how it is? I didn't expect the guild's reputation to be so good." Mystogan's answer satisfied Cain greatly.
After getting his answer, Cain turned and left. Before departing, he said one more thing: if anything came up, Mystogan could talk to everyone about it, Jellal.
When Cain called out his real name, Mystogan's body could not help but tremble. He wanted to ask Cain face-to-face how he knew.
