Background / History

Ning Rongrong wandered alone into the outskirts of a village and provoked a roughly fifty-year-old boar soul beast. Jiang Xuan pulled her away from its charge, carried her up a tree, and kept her safe until Chen Xin arrived and killed the beast. When Chen Xin learned that Jiang Xuan had lost his parents, he brought him to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect; Rongrong and Jiang Xuan subsequently grew up regarding one another as siblings. 1

At age six, Rongrong awakened the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda with Innate Soul Power Rank 9. She celebrated Jiang Xuan’s awakening rather than understanding why the sect elders initially viewed his furnace-shaped Martial Soul with disappointment. 1

Three years later, she had reached Level 17 while Jiang Xuan reached Level 20. She blamed his constant efforts to entertain her for slowing her cultivation, but admitted that she had neglected her training. She nevertheless insisted on accompanying him to the Star Dou Forest, where she supported his attempt to absorb a thousand-year second Soul Ring and placed a flower crown on him after he succeeded. 2 6

Rongrong assisted Jiang Xuan’s first alchemy attempts and eagerly served as the test subject for his Soul-Gathering Pill. The pill pushed her to Level 20, but also regressed her body into a childlike form. Distressed, she sought help from Ning Fengzhi, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong; she later gave the remaining pill to Chen Xin in hopes that he could study it and help restore her. 8 9 10

During Jiang Xuan’s unexplained three-year absence, Rongrong worried about him despite denying that she missed him. She eventually left the sect to ease her longing and traveled to Suotuo City, where she encountered Dai Mubai near Shrek Academy. 65 67 78

Dai Mubai attacked Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing after they rejected his demands. Jiang Xuan arrived before Flender could intervene, defeated Dai Mubai immediately, and reunited with Rongrong. She tearfully embraced Jiang Xuan, bit his shoulder in anger, and made him promise never to disappear without taking her along. 79

Rongrong was originally a youthful girl, but the Soul-Gathering Pill abruptly regressed her body into a childlike form. By the time she reached Suotuo City, she appeared as a delicate girl approximately one meter tall. 2 9 77
