The decisive battle for the city begins around the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace after Qian Renxue's covert plan to take the empire collapses. Heaven Dou Imperial Guards and soul master troops fight Spirit Hall's elite forces, while Tang San's allies attempt to trap Qian Renxue inside the city. 1 4

After Qian Sha Yu assumes control of Qian Renxue's body, the conflict becomes a massacre. His attacks devastate streets around the palace square, killing large numbers of Imperial Guards. Tang San, Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Bone Douluo escape through spatial means, leaving the remaining Heaven Dou forces and Four Single-Attribute Clans to flee or die. 7

Qian Sha Yu orders She Long and Ci Xue to blockade every part of Heaven Dou City, imprison members of the royal family, and purge all resistance. Prince Xue Xing is captured, while the principal Imperial Guard force is later described as having been wiped out. 7 11

Spirit Hall consolidates its occupation through public terror and propaganda. Emperor Xue Ye, Princess Xue Ke, and Tang Yuehua are scheduled for public execution in the central square, while notices throughout the city accuse the royal family, Tang Hao, Tang San, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Shrek, and the Four Single-Attribute Clans of crimes and rebellion. 12 13

Tang San's rescue force attacks during the execution, but the operation fails. Xue Ye is beheaded, Xue Xing dies, Liu Erlong and Tai Tan are killed, and Bone Douluo loses an arm while protecting Ning Rongrong. The loss removes the remaining royal leadership and helps end organized resistance to the city's occupation. 18 21 24

Qian Renxue later chooses to keep Xue Ke alive for her own purposes, while Tang Yuehua remains imprisoned in the imperial palace as a hostage and lure for Tang Hao and the Clear Sky Sect. 23 59

Following the coup, Qian Renxue treats the city as the foundation of Spirit Hall's future expansion. An attempted Papal Hall takeover is repelled by Qian Sha Yu, who defeats four visiting Titled Douluo in the imperial palace plaza and kills Ghost Douluo Gui Mei. 29 31 34

Tang Hao, Tang Xiao, and the Second, Third, and Seventh Elders of the Clear Sky Sect later launch a nighttime assault on the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace to rescue Tang Yuehua. Tang Xiao defeats Light Feather Douluo, while Tang Hao injures She Long and Ci Xue, allowing the Clear Sky Sect elders to extract Tang Yuehua from the palace ruins. 59 60

Qian Renxue's return reverses the battle. Tang Xiao and the Second, Third, and Seventh Elders are killed in Heaven Dou City, while Tang Hao escapes with severe injuries. Although Tang Yuehua is rescued from the palace, she later dies, and Tang Hao returns to the Clear Sky Sect carrying her body. 71 72 76

The assault leaves the imperial palace damaged and the city in need of further stabilization. Qian Renxue acknowledges that the city has endured a bloody battle, that its defenses remain weak, and that tens of thousands of surrendered imperial troops have yet to be fully incorporated. 74

Despite this instability, ordinary life resumes under Spirit Hall occupation. By the time Light Feather Douluo returns to guard the city, its markets are operating, crowds fill the streets, and Heaven Dou troops patrol the walls, though the city remains a strategic target for Spirit Hall's enemies. 80
