Tang Hao was once the formidable Clear Sky Douluo, remembered for driving back three Titled Douluo with a single hammer strike. At some earlier point, he severed his own right arm and left leg at the Clear Sky Sect, reducing his cultivation to Rank 70 and leaving him dependent on the Icefire Yin-Yang Well to remain alive. 24 28

After the fall of Heaven Dou City, Tang San seeks Tang Hao out in Sunset Forest and recounts the deaths of Flender, Zhao Wuji, and Liu Erlong, as well as Qian Renxue's apparent Titled Douluo-level power. Enraged that Spirit Hall has driven his son into retreat, Tang Hao agrees to recover his strength and lead the Clear Sky Sect against Spirit Hall. 28
