Background / History

Qian Daoliu is Qian Renxue's grandfather and the senior authority of Spirit Hall's Worship Hall. He supported her twenty-year infiltration of the Heaven Dou imperial court and remains deeply concerned for both her safety and her future as the Qian Clan's heir. 29 30 46

Following Qian Renxue's seizure of Heaven Dou City and the reported death of Ghost Douluo, Qian Daoliu initially struggled to reconcile the reports with her ordinary Soul Sage-level angel power. He dispatched Light Feather Douluo to investigate, then personally questioned Qian Renxue after she returned to Spirit City. 42 44 46

When Qian Renxue revealed that Qian Sha Yu, a murderous Second Personality, had controlled her body and killed Ghost Douluo, Qian Daoliu attempted to inspect her soul with Angel Soul Power. The system concealed Qian Sha Yu completely, leaving Qian Daoliu unable to detect an abnormality despite repeated examinations. 46

Qian Sha Yu later emerged before the Worship Hall and openly challenged Qian Daoliu. Qian Daoliu sealed the hall, bound him with an Angel Soul Power chain, and moved their battle to an isolated mountaintop. There, he decisively defeated Qian Sha Yu's level 94 Slaughter Angel power with Angel Descent. 48 49

Although Qian Daoliu's Holy Purification had no effect on Qian Sha Yu, he refused to destroy him when Qian Sha Yu made clear that harming the shared body would also kill Qian Renxue. Qian Daoliu instead accepted a seven-day period of Qian Sha Yu's control, while ordering him confined to the Worship Hall and forbidding further recklessness. 50 51

After Qian Sha Yu killed Chrysanthemum Douluo, Qian Daoliu again demanded an explanation for the death of a Spirit Hall Titled Elder. Qian Sha Yu argued that Yue Guan had repeatedly tried to kill the Qian Clan's heir and accused Qian Daoliu of having sensed the fight without intervening. Qian Daoliu let the matter go after Qian Sha Yu raised Bibi Dong's secret Rakshasa God Trial, but was visibly disturbed by his knowledge of it. When Qian Sha Yu threatened to harm their shared body rather than remain confined, Qian Daoliu allowed him to leave under Jiang Mo Douluo's escort and watch. 55 56 57

After Light Feather and Jiang Mo reported Qian Sha Yu's defeat of the Clear Sky Sect's attacking force and Qian Renxue's return to control, Qian Daoliu declared that the sect had broken its old agreement with him and Tang Chen. Angered that its members had attacked his granddaughter, he authorized the Worship Hall to respond without mercy. 71 76 77

When Bibi Dong mobilized the Elder Hall independently, Qian Daoliu sensed a hostile divine aura from the Papal Hall and inferred that she had encountered a dark Divine Trial. He chose not to confront her, prioritizing Spirit Hall's stability, and sent Light Feather back to Heaven Dou City to protect Qian Renxue and warn her of Bibi Dong's movements. 77

Personality

Qian Daoliu is composed and authoritative even during crises that alarm the other Worshippers. When Qian Sha Yu attacked in the Worship Hall, he blocked the strike with a single finger, ordered the hall sealed, and chose to handle the threat personally. 48

His calmness is tempered by intense protectiveness toward Qian Renxue. He views Qian Sha Yu as a danger to her soul, angel bloodline, and future inheritance, and his anger stems primarily from the threat posed to his granddaughter rather than personal insult. 47 49

Despite possessing the strength to overwhelm Qian Sha Yu, Qian Daoliu is constrained by Qian Renxue's shared body. He cannot bring himself to strike lethally when doing so may kill her, forcing him into an unwilling compromise with the Second Personality. 50

His handling of Yue Guan's death shows a pragmatic side beneath his insistence on Spirit Hall's rules.
