Background

Ye An was born in Guler Village on the outskirts of Heaven Dou City. His father died to a wolf while hunting, and his mother died giving birth to him. Village Chief Mike took in the orphaned child, named him Ye An, and raised him as his grandson. Ye An retained memories of a previous life on Earth and recognized the world as the era of the Peerless Tang Clan. 1

At age six, Ye An awakened two Body Martial Souls: a scarlet Heart and White Bone patterns across his body. A visiting Soul Master mistook the latter for an Evil Martial Soul and intended to take Ye An to Heaven Dou City, but Du Busi intervened, correctly identified his exceptional talent, and accepted him as a disciple. 1 2

Du Busi brought Ye An to the Body Sect and began a demanding regimen of medicinal baths, whale glue, physical training, Hurricane Cave tempering, spiritual cultivation, and Martial Soul theory. Ye An was also designated the sect's future Young Sect Master. 5 8 15 24

While traveling with Du Busi, Ye An met Zhang Lexuan after the destruction of her family. He supported bringing her into the Body Sect, where she became his child bride and later fiancée. 3 4 20

Appearance

By age nine, Ye An had grown tall and handsome, with a young man's bearing despite still being slightly shorter than Zhang Lexuan. His physique became heavily tempered through years of Body Sect training. 16

Ye An is intensely disciplined. During three years at the Body Sect, he maintained a routine of spiritual training, Hurricane Cave tempering, theoretical study, and nightly soul-power cultivation without relaxing for a day. 16

He is compassionate toward vulnerable people despite his pursuit of power. He insisted on burying villagers murdered by an Evil Soul Master, healed Huo Yuhao's injuries, and opposed the Shrek Inspection Corps' demand for Xiao Hu's immediate execution. 33 48 77

Ye An is also pragmatic and strategic. He studies other sects' techniques for ways to adapt them to his own Martial Souls, evaluates dangerous plans critically, and uses his understanding of Du Busi's protective nature to secure action against the Heavenly Dragon Sect. 53 63 67
