During the days of waiting, Sagreles spent most of his time consulting Ravenclaw about the mysteries of Time Magic.
It was profoundly complex and extremely dangerous, entirely different from the destructive magic he had created before.
Meanwhile, out in the wilderness not far away, Salazar Slytherin was dissecting one of the monsters Sagreles had created with Flesh Fusion.
His makeshift workshop was shrouded in a dim, dark-green glow.
Snake-shaped sconces set into the stone walls breathed cold flames, twisting his shadow across the wilderness into something monstrous.
On the crude workbench lay a row of silver scalpels glinting coldly, each handle set with organs from different creatures—a Harpy's vertical pupil, a Centaur's amber iris, a Unicorn's crystallized tear gland...
They still retained the fresh dampness they had possessed when they were stripped away.
"Specimen Seven. Begin recording." Slytherin's voice was low, cold, and utterly emotionless.
A hovering quill immediately drew a streak of ink across the parchment.
The silver blade precisely cut open the monster's chest cavity. The cluster of eyeballs inside contracted violently, but Slytherin did not so much as twitch an eyelash. The parchment automatically recorded:
"There is a magical circuit at the junction of the wing bones and pectoral muscles, shaped like biological eyeballs. Presumed to be an organic conductor for flight magic..."
Sagreles learned at an astonishing speed.
Before Godric and Helga returned, he had already mastered all the fundamental principles of Time Magic.
Of course, whether Ravenclaw had withheld certain key spells was impossible to know. After all, she was an exceedingly intelligent witch with deep knowledge of time, fate, and memory.
In his spare time, he also observed Slytherin's magical experiments.
The future founder's research methods were rigorous enough to surprise him. Every step came with detailed records, and every conclusion underwent repeated verification.
