Background / History
Sagreles was transmigrated into the wizarding world and had spent twenty-one years there by the time he reflected on his past. His transmigration-related gift allowed him to create seven spells and derive further spell series from them, but it ceased functioning after his magical power stopped growing around adulthood. Even then, he estimated his reserves at roughly the combined level of three veteran Aurors. 6
He was formerly a Hogwarts student, later expelled and imprisoned in Azkaban before receiving a Ministry pardon. By the beginning of the story, he had returned to Hogwarts as a professor and was already popular among sixth- and seventh-year students for producing unusually effective results without assigning homework. 2 5
Before becoming a professor, Sagreles travelled widely, explored dangerous magical ruins, collected rare materials, and developed a reputation as a “dangerous genius.” His travels included a near-fatal encounter with a Norwegian Sea Monster; Loctis broke the creature’s illusion and saved him from drowning. 2 6 109
Appearance
Sagreles commonly wears black wizarding robes and is described as having pale skin and gray eyes. 55 307
- Carries the Everlasting Flowerwood Wand. 402
- Frequently adopts a raven-shaped shadow form for travel and combat. 12 55
- Has a magical siphoning array engraved from his right hand to his heart. 76
Personality
Sagreles is calculating, intellectually driven, and remarkably composed under pressure. He treats dangerous situations as problems to be analyzed, often using intimidation, Legilimency, or overwhelming force when diplomacy is inefficient. His response to threats can be exceptionally ruthless, from destroying the Flint estate to draining hostile goblins of their magic. 27 391
His pursuit of knowledge is central to his character. He researches forbidden magic, alchemy, soul magic, time travel, and bloodline grafting with little regard for conventional restrictions, though he insists that he seeks to understand and shape the world rather than destroy it. 40 67 282 401
As an educator and leader, he is more patient than his reputation suggests. He builds practical lessons around survival, dueling, healing, and strategic thinking, and offers Bronze Feather members powerful magic without demanding immediate payment. 61 67 203 340
Sagreles is also capable of reassessing his own values. Criticism of his cold, efficiency-focused approach to the Magic Net leaves him silent, while his later support for Stinfalis emphasizes that a being should be judged by its actions and choices rather than appearance. 466 463
Abilities & Skills
Spell Creation and Forbidden Magic
Sagreles created seven original spells through his former transmigration ability and subsequently developed related spell series. He has also accumulated forbidden, ancient, rune-based, and Dark magic from ruins, manuscripts, black markets, and deceased Dark wizards’ Pensieves. 6 67
- Uses large-scale war magic, including Iron Armor Torrent and Meteor Summoning, both remnants of the Giant–wizard wars and classified as forbidden magic. 27
- Casts destructive spells including Frenzied Explosion, Nether Fiendfyre, Falling Stars, Humming Shockwave, and Scarlet Rend. 16 55 321 421
- Uses forbidden transfiguration such as Corpse Summons and Flesh Fusion to assemble war beasts from remains. 55
- Employs specialized magic such as Eternal Ice Coffin, which froze a Venom-Pouched Leopard and the surrounding quicksand field into a glacier. 65
- Is capable of powerful healing magic, including Vulnera Sanentur and poison-conversion healing through Poison Devouring Replenishment. 55
Legilimency and Memory Manipulation
Sagreles uses Legilimency for interrogation, reconnaissance, and the detection of altered memories. He can force entry into resistant minds and identify inconsistencies in implanted memory fragments. 13 307 391
- Extracted intelligence from Barnabas Guffe, goblins, clergy, and other hostile targets. 27 307 397
- Identified mass memory tampering within the goblin stronghold and discovered that the manipulated goblins had been conditioned to hate him. 307
- Alters memories when necessary, including creating a false rescue narrative for a captive woman and modifying Professor Sam Delong’s memories. 267 406
- Uses Memory Diversion to convey magical knowledge to Bronze Feather members more efficiently. 100 148
Mechanical Mind
Mechanical Mind is Sagreles’s self-created emotional magic, used for self-regulation, pain management, teaching, and manipulation of others’ emotional states. 16 47
- Restores his sanity while enduring severe pain, although it does not remove the pain itself. 16
- Can selectively induce rage, sorrow, ecstasy, or calm in another person; Sagreles fully demonstrates this control on Philk Elios. 16
- Mitigates the psychological side effects of Wakeful Soul’s Rest and Sleepiness Evaporation. 47
- Improves concentration during Bronze Feather instruction alongside Memory Diversion. 100
Magic Siphon
Sagreles developed Magic Siphon from an alchemical technique, constructing a rune array across his own body to explore forcibly increasing his magical reserves. 67 76
- Drains magical essence and life force from targets. 391 397
- Used the technique against hostile goblins, leaving them crippled while gathering power and resources for his journey. 391
- Extracted magic from clergy who had been turned into persecutors by the Church. 397
- Its use is explicitly tied to dangerous and ethically questionable magical experimentation. 67 391
Mobility, Protection, and Spatial Magic
Sagreles is highly proficient in Apparition, Portkeys, battlefield movement, and defensive warding. 12 15 271
- Transforms into a raven-shaped shadow capable of high-speed flight. 12
- Uses Portkeys for long-distance operations and provides emergency Portkeys to allies. 15
- Fortified Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place into a Safe House through the Fidelius Charm and additional protective magic. 271
- Uses Anti-Apparition magic, Spatial Anchoring, and Banishing Charms to isolate private workspaces. 76
- Created a time-and-space travel spell and bears a Spacetime Rune associated with cross-time projection. 401 406
Magical Engineering and Teaching
Sagreles combines runes, alchemy, spells, and magical creatures to create practical training systems rather than relying solely on conventional classroom instruction. 203 243
- Designed Advanced Tasks including Magical Ruins Exploration, Alchemical Automaton Workshop, St Mungo’s Crisis, Darknight Forest Expedition, Dragonflame Trial Grounds, and Opaleye Floating City. 203
- Created dangerous “NPCs,” monsters, and Mirror Images for the Dueling Stele. 243 271
- Uses repeated simulated hardship to condition students to respond effectively to danger and betrayal. 247
- Teaches advanced spell applications with an emphasis on environmental awareness, limits, and precise control. 340
Curse-Breaking and Artifact Knowledge
Sagreles can identify, contain, and dismantle powerful magical curses and recognizes historically significant artifacts. 475
- Broke the curse on a treasure vault by freezing its hostile magic. 475
- Identified Hufflepuff’s Cup, Ravenclaw’s Astrolabe, the Cauldron of Mungo’s Mercy, and Ragnok’s Heart of the Forge. 475
- Recognized Ravenclaw’s Astrolabe as a stolen Hogwarts artifact associated with the castle’s moving staircases. 475

Magic Net

- The title of his time-travel spell, coined by his future self, is “Supreme Invincible Cross-Time Projection and Emergency Rescue Spell.” 406
- He failed to summon the Sword of Gryffindor, with the Sorting Hat attributing the failure to his calculated nature and lack of Gryffindor’s impulsive courage. 477 478
- Sagreles once described Bronze Feather’s prohibited spell collection as “highly effective survival magic,” rather than Dark magic. 67
