The sun rose in the east~
Leon woke from his sleep.
He'd been too exhausted yesterday. They really meant it when they said people were forced into action! Things he'd procrastinated over for so long were finished in a flash once he made up his mind, cutting through the mess with a swift blade.
As usual, he lay in bed for a while to clear his head.
After dealing with Kingpin yesterday, Leon had gone straight home to sleep. It wasn't until he was almost home that he remembered with regret: he'd forgotten to swipe some valuable artwork or antiques from Kingpin!
What did it mean to enter a treasure mountain and leave empty-handed?!
This was exactly that.
Lying in bed, Leon began reviewing the entire chain of events in his mind.
Nothing else really mattered. There were mainly two issues.
Information.
With Leon's current strength, there'd actually been no problem with raiding the hideout and confronting the big boss from the start. There was no need to go through that whole hero-versus-dragon routine, endlessly grinding minions for experience before finally taking on the boss.
But Leon was just an ordinary civilian. He basically had no connections and knew nothing about hacking. What could he do?!
He could only start with the small fry and question them one by one until he found the biggest one.
There was no use rushing this problem. Things would work themselves out when the time came!
The second point...
Was his personality.
Leon actually knew that his reckless style would get him into trouble sooner or later!
But that wasn't easy to fix either. Personality was incredibly hard to forcibly change, and Leon wasn't all that willing to change it!
"If I change, am I still me?!"
Someone who knew they were wrong and refused to change was still better than someone who knew they were wrong, changed, relapsed, changed again, and got lenient treatment after being hammered into shape!
After his perfect review (?), Leon was pretty much awake.
He got up and washed up. He wouldn't go out to eat today; he just found some bread to make do with. Then Leon sat on the only chair in his room and prayed devoutly.
"I'll spend my whole life raising you like a dog~"
"Please grant me the power of breast cancer~ and lung cancer!"
Prayer complete!
[God of Man System!]
Ho ho ho ho ho! It was time for another delightful draw!
Leon still hadn't figured out whether the dead system had counted Wesley's death. There wasn't even a record for this stuff, so Leon had no way to investigate.
But that wasn't important!
He'd leveled up anyway!
Before drawing, it was time for a delightful round of stat allocation!
Counting Wesley, whose calculation method he didn't know, that cosplay enthusiast of questionable worth—the Owl—and the utterly evil Bullseye, plus Kingpin, the biggest haul of this trip, while ignoring the minor mobs, Leon's personal level had risen by three levels. He'd gained a total of fifteen four-dimensional stat points!
"Hahaha! Who else?! Becoming an all-around Superman isn't a dream anymore!"
Leon: From now on, please call me Superman! Thank you!
After adding stats during his last level-up, Leon's four attributes had reached:
Strength: 19
Agility: 22
Constitution: 19
Intelligence: 17
Of those, Agility had already broken past the limits of a normal human. When it did, it had even granted him a skill: Rapid Advance.
It was still only level one, though. His Sky Dance Technique was already level two. This skill was useful, but he used it too rarely, making it difficult to level up.
He wondered whether the other three attributes would grant skills when they broke through as well!
For now, Leon still favored distributing points evenly across all four attributes. That made him more well-rounded. The Marvel world had every kind of bizarre freak and ability imaginable. A single powerful attribute could indeed grant a huge boost in combat power in the short term, but if he encountered an opponent who countered him, he'd be completely suppressed.
As a rigorous person, how could Leon allow such a thing to happen?!
"I have to develop evenly!"
After a round of adjustments, Leon's four attributes became:
Strength: 23 (+4)
Agility: 24 (+2)
Constitution: 23 (+4)
Intelligence: 22 (+5)
Now, all four of Leon's attributes truly surpassed those of ordinary people. Without exaggeration, Leon was fully qualified to call himself a Superman.
Though he'd still get hung up and beaten by the Superman next door.
And just as Leon had expected, when Strength, Constitution, and Intelligence broke through, the system really did grant him skills for each one!
Formless Slaughter (Strength)
Effect: Deals an additional 10% damage when attacking enemies.
Level: 1
Note: The invisible blade is the deadliest!
What a steal!
It gave 10% bonus damage at level one. Wouldn't level ten mean 1,000% damage?!
One punch equal to ten punches! What kind of concept was that!
Rounding it up, that was one hundred million!
Applause, please!
Light of Revival (Constitution)
Effect: Increases health regeneration for allied personnel by 10%.
Level: 1 (Current range: 10 meters. Can include 1 additional beneficiary.)
Note: If the King of Hell says you'll die at midnight, I'll adjust his watch on the spot!
This skill! It was insanely strong! A true lifesaver!
And it was an aura-type skill that could even benefit allies!
Leon: Let's see who still dares call me a veterinarian now!
Eye of Truth (Intelligence)
Effect: Can identify creatures, energy entities, and abnormalities invisible to the naked eye. Specific results depend on Intelligence and skill level.
Level: 1
Note: You farted! Don't explain—I saw it!
Leon: Hmm... so I can moonlight as a witch doctor too?
This note was damn confusing...
It really made this ability hard to trust, you know?!
How was he supposed to test this thing?!
Go have a chat with Ghost Rider?
Forget it. That was something Thanos would do.
Besides, just being able to see them was useless! If he could see them but couldn't touch them, wouldn't that still be pointless?!
Thinking about it carefully, though, that didn't seem right!
If he couldn't hit them, he could run!
Level two Sky Dance Technique was much faster than a bicycle!
Forget it. Better than nothing!
After settling the stat allocation, Leon rubbed his hands together like a fly, looking lecherous and thoroughly detestable. It was time to draw!!!!!
Without exception, the system had leveled up again. No matter how many minor mobs he cleared, the gains couldn't compare to taking down one big boss!
The proportions were completely off!
The Purification Points required from one Kingpin equaled those from two hundred low-level underlings!
Although the experience bar after this system upgrade made Leon despair, that was a problem for the future.
"Why should I care about the things tomorrow's Leon has to worry about today!"
Tomorrow after tomorrow, there were so many tomorrows.
Listen to that. He really was a great poet. The poem made so much damn sense!
The first thing Leon paid attention to was the item grades in the prize pool.
The system had clearly stated before that items came in white, green, blue, purple, and gold!
But the best Leon could currently draw was blue, and that was only at a 10% chance.
Good thing these weren't Goose Factory odds!
Otherwise, he wouldn't even get a ring!
After this upgrade, the system's prize pool probabilities had indeed changed.
[Purification Points Pool] Probability: 40% white. 30% green. 20% blue. 10% purple.
The proportion of white trash had been reduced, while the proportion of green and blue items had increased. Most importantly, purple items had been added!
"One draw costs 500 Purification Points? Damn! Shouldn't it be 300? This thing is pricing itself according to my wallet!"
Leon currently had 6,125 Purification Points. He'd previously guessed that after this upgrade, it might follow the old pattern, where 6,000 Purification Points would be enough for two ten-draws!
"Hehe..."
What else could he do?
Leon was despairing too!
Could he protest? Protest my ass. Just draw!
