Isn't this a classic scene from a novel?
The second female lead telling the innocent female protagonist to stay away from the male lead—Muya found the whole scenario distasteful.
"Oh, Draco and I? What business is it of yours?"
Hannah frowned, knowing that the Parkinson family intended to form an alliance with the Malfoy family through marriage.
"Parkinson, don't assume everyone is like you."
"Heh, who knows?"
"Simp." Muya dropped the insult and pulled Hannah and the others away. She wasn't some naive protagonist, after all.
During dinner, Hannah and the others looked at her with concern. She couldn't help but speak up, "Don't worry. Shall we go see Susan later?"
"Mhm, mhm."
Muya and her friends brought Susan some food she could eat, then headed to the hospital wing.
Madam Pomfrey told them they could only visit for ten minutes before having to leave. They nodded.
"Hey Susan, how are you feeling?" Muya sat down, eating an apple, while Hannah handed Susan the food.
"Much better."
"Oh, right. Could you guys do me a favor and bring my textbooks later?" Susan didn't want to miss Lockhart's class.
Shalian was the first to nod. "Of course."
"Junior student Ya Mu, good afternoon." A gentle female voice suddenly came from the doorway.
Muya looked up and saw it was Cho Chang from Ravenclaw.
"Senior student Qiu, good afternoon." The two exchanged smiles.
Seeing that they knew each other, Hannah and the others didn't interrupt.
"What's up, Senior?" Muya gestured to Cho Chang's presence at the hospital wing.
"I'm not feeling well," Cho Chang smiled at Muya. "It's nothing serious, just a minor issue."
Muya nodded.
Visiting time was up. After her treatment, Cho Chang also came out with them.
"What class do you have this afternoon?"
"Defense Against the Dark Arts, Senior," Muya replied.
They continued chatting about random things, with Shalian and the others chiming in occasionally.
Cho Chang was heading to Potions class. Muya and her friends, with their schedules in hand, went to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
They found a row and sat down casually.
Lockhart appeared soon after, picking up someone's textbook.
Lockhart pointed to himself on the cover and announced, "I am Gilderoy Lockhart, Merlin's Third Class Order, Honorary Member of the Dark Arts Defense League, five-time winner of Wizard Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award."
Muya glanced at the book cover, wondering if such an award truly existed.
"I see you've all bought my complete works. Excellent. We can start with a short quiz." He smiled at the students.
"You have thirty minutes. Begin now."
Muya detested quizzes, especially this kind of bizarre one.
1. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favorite color? How was she supposed to know? The man was insane!
2. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's secret ambition? To obliterate everyone.
3. What do you consider Gilderoy Lockhart's greatest achievement to date? Being a novelist.
What a load of rubbish, Muya thought. No thanks.
Lockhart quickly collected all the papers. "Oh, unfortunately, no one scored 100."
Then, he suddenly produced a test paper and displayed it to everyone. "Miss Ya Mu, where are you?"
If you can't find the book title, try searching for the author. Maybe the name just changed!
Muya calmly raised her hand, though inwardly she was panicking due to everyone's stares.
Lockhart's expression turned somewhat grim. "Ah, here you are. I'd like you to come to my office after class, alright?"
Muya figured she must have scored very poorly, but there was nothing she could do about it.
He then set the papers aside and brought out a cage covered with a black cloth.
Lockhart announced he would teach them how to defend against the most evil of creatures, warning them not to scream.
As it turned out, the cage contained a swarm of Cornish Pixies.
Muya thought Lockhart was more suited for acting in a play.
Everyone watched the group of pixies, chattering amongst themselves.
Just a second before Lockhart prepared to open the cage, Muya raised her hand. "Miss Ya Mu, what is it?"
"Professor, you haven't told us the spell to deal with these pixies yet."
"Oh, yes, yes, the spell is Peskipiksi Pesternomi!"
Then he opened the cage, and in an instant, Cornish Pixies flew everywhere, causing destruction.
"Immobulus!" Muya hit a few pixies that were approaching them.
The four of them exchanged a look, then immobilized all the pixies flying from all directions. Muya even accidentally immobilized Lockhart.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, Professor Lockhart." She did it on purpose.
"N-no, it's fine. Due to Miss Ya Mu's outstanding performance, Hufflepuff gains 10 points." Lockhart was extremely embarrassed, and his wand had been thrown somewhere by the pixies.
"Let's have self-study first."
"The spell Lockhart just said was completely useless," Muya stated calmly.
"Oh, yes," Shalian and the other two nodded.
When class ended, Lockhart finally appeared. "Class dismissed, everyone."
Then he glanced at Muya.
"Do you need us to wait for you?" Susan asked.
"Oh, no need. Remember to save me a seat." Susan and the others nodded and left.
Muya walked into Lockhart's office. She saw that the room was filled with things about him and felt speechless.
So narcissistic, Muya thought to herself.
"Professor, what did you want to see me about?" Muya focused her gaze on Lockhart in front of her.
Lockhart painfully held up Muya's test paper. "Miss Ya Mu, you haven't read my books, have you?"
Muya nodded.
Muya looked at her test paper. It was very good, 0 points.
Lockhart didn't make things difficult for her and let her leave.
"Look who we found."
"It's Ya Mu."
Muya, who was out for a night walk, was suddenly startled by the twins. "Shh, you two, keep it down."
They then noticed Muya holding her small box.
"Oh, little badger, where are you off to?"
"Do you need your big brothers to accompany you?" Fred and George ruffled Muya's head and then her face.
"Yes."
The three of them arrived at the Room of Requirement. "Little badger, what kind of alchemical item are you going to make?" Fred sat on the sofa first, then looked at Muya patting the seat next to him.
As soon as he patted it, George plopped down.
"I don't need to sit for now," Muya took out some alchemical materials she had at home. "I'm planning to make a decoy doll."
Muya looked at the twins. "A doll you can use to test prank props."
The twins became interested.
The three of them started to divide the work. Only Muya could understand her own blueprints, so she guided the twins to place the appropriate materials in the correct positions.
In the end, the three of them completed half of it. Muya decided to complete the other half herself.
