The client had been directing the horses pulling the cart, and Uchiha Shunichi's words left him rather confused.
"What I mean is, do you need me to help kill those enemies? Or are those people your subordinates?" Uchiha Shunichi pointed at the shadows in the distance and spoke calmly.
Even before they had set out, Uchiha Shunichi had noticed someone secretly following them. However, seeing that the client seemed to have some connection to the people in the woods, he had not made a move.
Such uncertain elements were tolerable while traveling, but absolutely could not be allowed to remain during rest.
Hearing Uchiha Shunichi's words, the client's body trembled slightly, and realization appeared in his eyes.
"So, you noticed them long ago. I thought I'd run into some useless ninjas."
"They were my former subordinates. There's no need to worry about them." A smile appeared on the client's face. Clearly, he had become much more reassured about Uchiha Shunichi's team.
However, Uchiha Shunichi did not relax. Instead, he said to Yakumo Kurama and Second Pillar, "Sasuke, Yakumo, leave them to you."
Upon hearing that, the client hurriedly tried to stop them. But before he could finish speaking, those people hidden in the darkness rushed out.
Most of them were samurai, though there were also a small number of ninjas. They emerged like a band of bandits, making quite a racket.
Second Pillar moved first. He unleashed a Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu, killing all but a few of them and clearing an open patch of ground.
"Those are ninjas!"
"Don't be afraid! We outnumber them! Charge..."
"Where are our ninjas? Hurry and support us!"
In an instant, the attacking enemies descended into chaos. Though they barely managed to hold their formation and did not flee, they had completely lost
