"I'm kind of at a loss for what to do."
Looking at the code that was already fifty percent complete, Zhang Tianran suddenly felt irritated. Creating his own artificial intelligence was proving a little too difficult.
A reliable artificial intelligence was indeed one of his goals. But there was no need to rush at this stage. Besides, Zhang Tianran could copy Gideon for use whenever he wanted.
Should he go find Supergirl? Maybe study Kryptonian genes while he was at it... Forget it. Before he solved the Speed Force problem, he shouldn't alter his body.
What about Wonder Woman? She seemed to have quite a few divine artifacts. The rest didn't matter, but getting himself a sword wouldn't be a bad choice.
Forget it. It was still too early to deal with so-called gods. He should wait until he became stronger.
After thinking for a long time, Zhang Tianran still hadn't decided what to do next. It seemed that everything he could do had already been done, while anything useful to him lay in the future.
As for the future... that was somewhere Zhang Tianran had always been unwilling to interfere with.
"Dr. Zhang, Felicity and Oliver Queen have arrived in Central City." Barry's voice suddenly came through the computer speakers.
Whenever Zhang Tianran was busy, he cut off his private laboratory's connection to the outside world. But when he had nothing to do, Barry and the others could contact him through their communicators at any time.
"Oliver Queen? Come to think of it, when I went to Star City last time, I didn't know Oliver Queen was the Green Arrow. It's a bit of a shame I didn't pay him a visit." Zhang Tianran showed ordinary curiosity.
Zhang Tianran knew a great deal about this world. There were also quite a few things in Star City worth his attention, such as the spring that could bring people back to life...
"Do you want to come out and meet them? Staying in the lab all day isn't very good for your health," Barry said with concern.
"Sure. I've just prepared some little toys. I can test them out."
After saying that, Zhang Tianran got up and went to the central control room. Barry and the others often stayed there, and this time was no exception.
But aside from Barry and the others, there was one more person there: Felicity.
Cisco was testing a Boomerang. Though it looked like a primitive cold weapon, the technology packed into it was extremely advanced.
"Long time no see, Feli—" Zhang Tianran had just been about to greet her when Caitlin's piercing scream suddenly rang in his ears.
Along with the scream came a Boomerang flying wildly through the air. In an instant, the entire control room became quite lively.
"Sorry, my fault!" Cisco apologized helplessly. He hadn't expected the Boomerang to be so uncontrollable.
"An interesting toy... Be more careful next time. It's dangerous." Zhang Tianran pulled the Boomerang from the wall and handed it to Cisco.
Cisco looked embarrassed. Fortunately, although the thing had flown around wildly, it hadn't hurt anyone. Otherwise, there would have been serious trouble.
Felicity and Caitlin were clearly still shaken, while Barry was quite interested in the Boomerang. But Wells and his adoptive father Joe needed him for something, so he could only leave after confirming it was safe.
"Barry, come back later and help me test some equipment." Before Barry had gone too far, Zhang Tianran called out to remind him.
After quite a while, Felicity recovered from the fright. She subconsciously took a sip of the coffee Cisco handed her, then said to Zhang Tianran, "The last time we met, I don't think we mentioned where we worked."
"Mm, to be precise, I didn't know you were working with the Green Arrow then. You and Oliver Queen now..." Zhang Tianran looked extremely curious, but he actually knew this matter quite clearly.
He couldn't remember the details, but Ray Palmer was definitely a rebound. It seemed that in the end, not only did he fail to get Felicity,
his company also went bankrupt. "We're teammates now. By the way, Dr. Zhang, has the project you mentioned last time made any progress?" Felicity didn't want to discuss that topic and directly changed the subject.
And that was exactly what Zhang Tianran wanted.
"It's halfway underway, but I've run into a bottleneck. Since you're here, would you like to help me?" Without saying anything more, Zhang Tianran directly revealed his purpose.
And that was also one of Felicity's goals.
As one of the top hackers, if there was anything that could draw Felicity's attention, it was the supercomputer program project Zhang Tianran was working on.
"Sure! I've happened to written some interesting programs recently." Felicity was practically impatient.
Listening to their conversation, both Cisco and Caitlin were extremely curious. They also wanted to know what Zhang Tianran had been busy with lately.
The group headed straight to Zhang Tianran's private laboratory. The moment they entered, Cisco spotted the Freeze Gun he had made.
"Dr. Zhang, wasn't this thing stolen?" Cisco looked at Zhang Tianran suspiciously.
"That was just a model, not even a prototype. This is a little thing I improved using your technology. I'll be testing it with Barry later." As Zhang Tianran spoke, he handed Cisco several small metal spheres.
"Freezing Bombs? You actually made these?" Looking at the objects in his hand, Cisco sucked in a sharp breath, utterly unable to believe it.
"They're called Particle Activity Inhibitors, not Freezing Bombs. And that gun of yours—wasn't that name a little too careless? Did you really think the thing could fire freezing rays?" Zhang Tianran complained speechlessly.
The simplest way to produce low temperatures was actually with substances like dry ice. But those things worked too slowly, and mere cold was useless against a Speedster.
Temperature itself was born from the movement of particles. Slower movement meant cold, while faster movement meant scorching heat.
Cisco's Freeze Gun essentially controlled the speed of particles within a certain area. Though it looked like magic such as a freezing ray, its technological content was incredibly high.
Not only that, the thing was extremely difficult to make. Even Cisco would have trouble making a second Freeze Gun.
"Dr. Zhang, you're really terrible at naming things." Cisco complained helplessly, then hurried off to study the Freezing Bombs in his hands.
"My name is the most accurate one, all right?"
Zhang Tianran said nothing more and walked over to the computer, opening the program that was only half complete.
Looking at the dense classifications and all kinds of program packages on the screen, Felicity suddenly felt as though she had returned to her beginner days.
She couldn't understand most of the code on there!
