The Flash Out of Control

It seemed that because Barry's Speed Force had grown stronger, Reverse-Flash's movements had become increasingly obvious lately.

Zhang Tianran didn't interfere with Reverse-Flash's actions, nor did he care in the slightest. He was waiting—waiting for the time Reverse-Flash had mentioned.

However, while Zhang Tianran had no intention of acting, Barry, who had already uncovered some information, couldn't hold himself back any longer. He went straight to Zhang Tianran, hoping to get his help.

"I see. You're planning to use Mercury Labs' Superluminal Particles to draw that guy's attention. But are you sure you can borrow them?"

Zhang Tianran was speechless. While the two of them were discussing their plan with him, Reverse-Flash was standing right there watching.

"It's difficult, but it's the only way. Trying to capture someone like me is just too hard." Barry analyzed the situation calmly, though his words were full of confidence in his own speed.

Seeing Barry like this, Zhang Tianran understood why Reverse-Flash had appeared at this time, and in such an obvious manner.

Clearly, Barry needed a powerful enemy to curb his arrogance. Nothing could ignite his fighting spirit more than the man who had murdered his mother.

"Barry, perhaps you're a little too confident in your speed." Zhang Tianran frowned and offered a warning.

Barry obviously didn't take the warning seriously. Still, he didn't argue. Instead, he once again expressed his hope that Zhang Tianran would help him capture his mother's killer.

"Fine, I'll help you. But, Barry, you still don't understand your own abilities well enough. Oliver Queen happens to be in Central City recently. I want you to seek advice from that senior." Zhang Tianran frowned as he spoke.

Barry was somewhat unwilling, but he still agreed.

Thus, the following afternoon, Zhang Tianran saw Barry in Caitlin's infirmary, seemingly cleaning the wounds on his back.

Although a Speedster's recovery ability was powerful, it still required a certain amount of time.

"Just as I expected, you lost. If you'd been facing an enemy, you'd already be dead!" Zhang Tianran stood in the doorway of the infirmary and spoke flatly.

A flash of red appeared in Barry's eyes, and his emotions immediately became agitated.

"I didn't lose. I was just careless for a moment. Why don't any of you believe in me? I can handle this myself."

"Barry, your carelessness could very well get you killed. I still can't understand how someone with your speed could repeatedly get beaten down by ordinary people." Zhang Tianran continued mercilessly.

For a Speedster who had obtained the Speed Force and could rival Reverse-Flash as soon as the next day, Zhang Tianran truly couldn't understand Barry Allen's way of thinking. If his enemies were strong, that would be one thing. Yet even against enemies with mediocre abilities, Barry still ended up in bitter struggles, and getting defeated was practically routine.

"Ordinary people? You call those metahumans ordinary people? If they're ordinary people, then why don't you ask the police to go arrest them instead?"

Hearing Zhang Tianran's assessment, Barry immediately became furious. Then he turned into a bolt of lightning and vanished from the infirmary.

Watching Barry disappear, Zhang Tianran couldn't help frowning. He turned to Caitlin and said, "Something's wrong with Barry. Did he go off on his own again?"

Caitlin came to her senses as well and quickly explained, "Yes, he just let Pablo get away. But I checked him. There shouldn't have been anything wrong with him."

Only then did Zhang Tianran realize that Barry hadn't been cleaning arrow wounds just now—he'd been checking his own condition.

A Speedster was so fast that Barry could accomplish many things in a very short time. Zhang Tianran didn't watch him all day like Reverse-Flash did,

so it was normal for him to get it wrong. "Pablo's ability must have already affected Barry. How is Cisco's Emotion Control Device coming along?" Zhang Tianran immediately asked.

"He hasn't started making it yet. Those ordinary people Pablo controlled..." Caitlin also realized that things had taken a turn for the worse.

If Barry lost control, it would likely be difficult for anyone to subdue him. If The Flash, who captured metahuman criminals, became a criminal himself, all their efforts over the years would be wasted.

"Call Oliver Queen. We need his help now. I'll turn the Particle Activity Inhibitor into arrows. With that, we should be able to stop Barry."

"Particle Activity Inhibitor???" Caitlin looked utterly bewildered...

"...Fine, it's the Freezing Bomb Cisco mentioned. Go find Cisco now. We have to get Barry back to normal as soon as possible." Zhang Tianran spoke helplessly.

Hearing that, Caitlin hurried away. Zhang Tianran shook his head and returned to his laboratory.

But the moment he entered, he found Wells carefully examining a Particle Activity Inhibitor, as though he'd been there for quite a while.

The instant Zhang Tianran saw Wells, his expression darkened.

"Wells, I've tolerated you many times already. If you dare enter my lab without permission again, believe it or not, I'll go kill Eddie Thawne!"

Wells showed no concern at those words. Instead, he said, "After spending so much time with Barry, I sometimes forget that not every enemy is one of those... heroes who don't dare kill."

Zhang Tianran stepped forward, took the Particle Activity Inhibitor directly from Wells's hand, then opened a drawer and counted how many were stored inside. Finally, he took all of them with him.

Wells watched Zhang Tianran's actions without reacting. Only after Zhang Tianran had finished did he ask, "Was this thing prepared for me?"

"More or less. I put quite a bit of effort into making it." Zhang Tianran replied flatly.

"We won't be enemies, as long as you don't interfere with Barry Allen." Wells seemed somewhat wary as he explained himself to Zhang Tianran.

"Mm. Get out. I really don't like what you did. If there's a next time, I really will kill Eddie Thawne. You might not die, but I imagine it would still be very unpleasant for you." Zhang Tianran warned again.

Unlike the Molecular Field Cisco had made, the Particle Activity Inhibitor Zhang Tianran created perfectly replicated Frost's metahuman ability.

Although Caitlin hadn't yet displayed Frost's abilities, this power hadn't been brought about by the particle accelerator.

Moreover, Frost's abilities could affect a Speedster. Though the effect was limited, it was already extremely rare, since there were far too few things capable of countering a Speedster.
