Lucifer lazily climbed out of bed, walked over to pour himself a drink, got dressed as he drank, then casually strolled out of the room.
"I've heard of Speedsters like you, but this is my first time seeing one. Can you shoot lightning from your hands?" Lucifer looked curiously at Zhang Tianran's hands.
"I can, but it isn't ordinary lightning. It's the Speed Force." Zhang Tianran held out a hand, and a flash of white lightning vanished in an instant.
Lucifer watched with great interest, as though he'd found some amusing new toy.
"Quite an interesting power. It's somewhat similar to Amenadiel's. So, what do you want from me? If it interests me, I might choose to help you." Lucifer drained his glass in one gulp and spoke readily.
Zhang Tianran hesitated for a moment before saying directly, "I want to become a god. A true god. As far as I know, angels like you are the closest beings to gods. I think you must know something."
Lucifer paused slightly at those words. Then he shook his head with an amused smile. "Another mortal with wild fantasies. Still, you've got guts. I have a pretty good impression of you."
"Becoming a god is simple. Kill God and take his power, and you'll naturally become a god."
Clearly, Lucifer didn't take Zhang Tianran's words seriously. As a fallen angel, Lucifer had dared to rebel against God, so he didn't particularly care about the status of being a god.
Besides, gods weren't impossible to kill.
Hearing Lucifer's words, Zhang Tianran shook his head. "Sorry, I think you misunderstood me. I'm not asking for your help. I just want some information."
"To put it another way, I want to know about gods or higher-dimensional beings. You know, it's far too difficult to find higher-dimensional lifeforms in the Multiverse."
At that, Lucifer was clearly somewhat interested.
Zhang Tianran continued, "As a Speedster, I can travel through timelines. If you help me, I can tell you things you want to know. Information about the future, or even about God."
Originally, Zhang Tianran thought Lucifer would be interested in what he had said, but the result was completely the opposite.
"The future... it is rather intriguing. But unfortunately, I'm not a mortal, so I'm not interested in such things. On the contrary, I'm curious why you want to know about them. Are you planning to hunt them?"
Lucifer wore a confident smile throughout, as though he had seen Zhang Tianran through completely.
"If necessary, hunting them wouldn't be out of the question. After all, gods can die too." Zhang Tianran answered without hesitation.
"Hunting gods. That's a very interesting idea. Fine, I accept your request. But remember to let me know when the time comes. I'm really looking forward to that day." Lucifer agreed with surprising decisiveness.
Over the following days, Lucifer didn't immediately tell Zhang Tianran what he wanted to know. Instead, he took him around Los Angeles to have fun.
Even as a fallen angel, Lucifer didn't know much about beings at the level of Multiverse overlords. He needed some time.
Honestly, Zhang Tianran wasn't used to this sort of activity. He always felt the music at parties was too loud and the people were too crazy.
The alcohol was fairly good, but after becoming a Speedster, Zhang Tianran could barely get drunk anymore. As for the drugs Lucifer enjoyed, Zhang Tianran had no interest in them whatsoever.
Even if drugs wouldn't make him addicted now, Zhang Tianran had no intention of trying such low-level stuff.
As a scientist, if he wanted to, he could use equipment to achieve pleasure far more intense than drugs. But there was no point in that.
It was merely an escape for the weak. In fact, Lucifer couldn't get drunk either, but he was more immersed in this kind of human indulgence.
Lucifer was having a great time, but Zhang Tianran seemed completely out of place. As he drank alone and prepared to leave, he suddenly sensed what seemed to be traces of a timeline outside.
The temporal aura of his own world had only just appeared here, yet Zhang Tianran had already noticed it.
In fact, Zhang Tianran wasn't the only one who noticed. Lucifer, with two beautiful women in his arms, staggered toward the entrance.
When the door opened, Constantine was standing outside.
"I'm always happy to see you, Lucifer." Constantine's face was covered in smiles. He had come to collect a favor.
"John." Lucifer was clearly surprised to see Constantine here. But very quickly, his attention was drawn to the woman beside Constantine.
Just as Lucifer was about to greet Mia, Green Arrow's daughter, Constantine's expression changed drastically and he rushed straight inside.
Zhang Tianran had been watching the show. He had memories of this scene, but he hadn't expected Constantine to charge at him, looking furious.
Zhang Tianran casually dodged Constantine, unable to keep himself from frowning. According to the timeline, this should have been much later.
In truth, it was best if he didn't establish any connection with the Constantine of this time. Once someone knew the future, they had to act according to its original course, or things would become troublesome.
Zhang Tianran still had one spacetime loop to complete, so he didn't want to provoke anything else.
"How are you here? Where the hell did you go? Why couldn't anyone find you by any means?!" Constantine was so full of rage that he had nearly forgotten the purpose of his visit.
Zhang Tianran looked calmly at Constantine, not noticing the fleeting flash of magic in Constantine's hand.
After a while, Zhang Tianran finally said, "For the famous Constantine to be this angry, it seems my future self did quite well."
"But unfortunately, this is our first time meeting. You understand... time travel. So it's best not to tell me too much. Otherwise, if the timeline changes, everyone will be in trouble."
Constantine was visibly stunned by that answer. But he quickly recovered and said, "The universe is in crisis. We need your help. The you right now..."
Constantine hesitated because he had no idea what state Zhang Tianran was in at this point. It was entirely possible that he hadn't become very strong yet.
"Crisis on Infinite Earths... the Anti-Monitor... sounds a little dangerous, but it's fine. I can go take a look! But first, I want to make a trip to Hell." Zhang Tianran hesitated briefly before agreeing outright.
Although the Antimatter Wave was somewhat dangerous, as a Speedster, he should still have enough time to reach the Vanishing Point. There shouldn't be a problem.
Zhang Tianran had long obtained the coordinates of the Vanishing Point from Legends of Tomorrow, but he had simply never gone there. Besides, antimatter, the Cosmic Treadmill, and things like that were all very useful.
