There Were Many Ways to Travel Through Time in This World

Zhang Tianran drove home like an ordinary person would. Aside from getting a speeding ticket on the way, nothing much happened.

The world was still very peaceful.

Barry Allen, the Flash, had already appeared in Central City. Just yesterday, Zhang Tianran had encountered a Metahuman capable of creating duplicates.

Yet none of that had caused much of a stir.

Metahumans had always existed; no one had simply discovered them before. Even STAR Labs, which had been keeping watch over this place, had only found a handful of cases, most of them mere suspicions without any real leads.

Zhang Tianran had no interest in being some vigilante. Right now, the most important thing for him was adapting to his powers.

After returning home and briefly sorting through his luggage, Zhang Tianran turned into a streak of white lightning and vanished from Central City.

Since it was his first time using running to travel, Zhang Tianran was unfamiliar with the roads. But after adapting for a while, he quickly got his bearings.

All he had to do was memorize the map and determine his direction. His body's instincts could handle the rest. Although Zhang Tianran possessed Super Thinking, he did not use it while traveling.

After all, using Super Thinking would basically be like an ordinary person running through a frozen world. No Speedster would be bored enough to do that.

Come to think of it, that was one of a Speedster's weaknesses. The Flash was incredibly fast, yet he was often ambushed because he did not have Super Thinking activated.

Without using the Speed Force, Speedsters were essentially ordinary people.

After spending some time... probably a few days.

Zhang Tianran prepared a few little gadgets and successfully used them to find his target—the Time Bureau.

More precisely, a Time Bureau agent.

As a doctor personally trained by Reverse-Flash—who had been using Wells's identity at the time—Zhang Tianran's technical skills were exceptional. At the very least, making a few little gadgets was no problem for him.

If he had lacked that ability, Zhang Tianran would never have planned to save STAR Labs on his own after the Particle Accelerator explosion.

But unfortunately... before he could even finish his preparations, he discovered that this world was not what he had originally thought it was.

"Director Sharpe, no trace has been found yet..." The Time Bureau agent drawn here by the disturbance in the timeline was using an instrument to investigate. Having only completed half the scan, he began reporting to his superior.

Unfortunately, before he could finish, a silvery-white streak of lightning flashed past. All the equipment on his body vanished.

For a Speedster, dealing with an ordinary person could not have been easier.

"...There may be some anomaly in the timeline. It is probably the equipment... Hm?" Only halfway through speaking did the Time Bureau agent realize that all his gear had suddenly disappeared.

While the Time Bureau agent frantically fumbled about, Zhang Tianran had already left far away with his spoils.

"Hello, Ava Sharpe. I'll borrow your equipment for a moment and return it in a few seconds..." Zhang Tianran spoke very politely through the communicator he had just acquired.

The next second, Zhang Tianran activated the device. A highly futuristic time portal appeared before him. He stepped inside and casually tossed away his recent spoils.

For a Speedster, traveling through time was not particularly difficult. Although Zhang Tianran had yet to learn it, he was not worried about being trapped here.

Far away in the future timeline, Ava Sharpe listened as her subordinate's voice suddenly became unfamiliar, and her expression immediately turned livid...

Something huge had happened! A time fugitive had robbed a Time Bureau agent!!!

A piercing alarm blared.

The entire Time Bureau mobilized. Ava Sharpe even notified those people from Legends of Tomorrow...

Zhang Tianran, who had provoked the entire Time Bureau, was leisurely strolling through the streets, admiring the unique sights of the World War II era.

Time in this world was exceptionally chaotic. Setting aside the Speed Force, an existence that treated the timeline like a toy, there were simply too many beings capable of freely traveling through time.

The Time Council, the Time Bureau, Legends of Tomorrow, Rip Hunter when he was still a Time Master, along with demons, angels, and countless others.

It was worth mentioning that, in terms of the timeline, there was no such thing as before or after. Anyone capable of time travel could appear anywhere.

In other words, theoretically, Zhang Tianran could draw every person capable of traveling through time to a single point in time, even if that person was already dead—or had not died yet...

"Honestly, after learning the truth about this world, I suddenly feel like running away... Fortunately, the Speed Force still works in the past. It seems that as long as I do not provoke Barry Allen, the Speed Force will not abandon me..." As he walked down the street, a bitter smile appeared on Zhang Tianran's lips.

That was right. Ever since discovering that Barry Allen was the Flash, Zhang Tianran had felt overwhelming fear...

This world was simply too dangerous. He had taken enormous risks to gain control of the Speed Force, yet he could not even defeat Reverse-Flash.

So he should familiarize himself with his powers first. As for the Time Bureau... that was a minor matter!

After casually looking around the streets of the past, Zhang Tianran transformed into a streak of white lightning, withdrew cash from several banks, and headed straight for a remote small town.

Because of the war, even this isolated town had been affected to some extent. Still, the local landlord was very welcoming toward an outsider looking to rent.

For the next period of time, Zhang Tianran lived quietly in the town. Every day, he appeared to do nothing at all. Other than buying food, he seemed to have no social interactions, and the townspeople regarded him as an oddball.

In truth, aside from mealtimes, Zhang Tianran never appeared in the town at all. He had long since become lightning, racing through deserted wastelands in an attempt to better familiarize himself with his powers.

As a Speedster who had gained the Speed Force through an injected serum, Zhang Tianran had no mentor. Of course, he did not need one. Using the Speed Force only required practice.

Zhang Tianran mastered Molecular Vibration Phasing in only a few hours. However, he did not make his first attempt until a month later. The effect was incredibly surreal, completely ignoring any obstacle.

Unlike the genuine Flash, Zhang Tianran did not choose to make himself vibrate. Instead, at the instant he touched an obstacle, he transferred his speed and vibrations outward, making part of the obstacle "disappear" so he could pass through it.

Mastering time travel was extremely difficult. It seemed that the Speed Force did not want Speedsters to travel through time. Only after Zhang Tianran had mastered skills such as slowing time, rewinding time, accelerating time, and time jumping did he successfully return to the timeline he had once left.

As for the Time Bureau he had alarmed... they were not capable of tracking a Speedster yet.

After all, Zhang Tianran had not been trapped by time...
