"So this is the Kamui Dimension?" Mirai looked around and whistled. "It's pretty big."
Naori appeared beside him, transported in through the same spatial distortion.
She stumbled as she landed, and Mirai reached out to steady her.
"You okay?"
"Yeah. My eyes just feel a little uncomfortable."
Naori rubbed her temples. The blood vessels in her eyes had risen again, more noticeably than before.
Mirai watched her, his brow furrowing slightly.
The God Tree's chakra could ease it, but having to transfer some to her every time she used her eyes was a hassle.
Something occurred to him, and the corner of his mouth lifted.
"Naori."
"Hmm?"
"I thought of a more convenient way to help."
Naori looked up at him, puzzled. "What way?"
Instead of answering, Mirai pulled her a little closer.
Naori stiffened slightly, but she didn't pull away.
Mirai rested a hand on her waist and looked down at her.
"There's no one here," he said softly, a hint of a smile in his voice. "And we haven't tried the Kamui Dimension version of..."
Naori immediately understood what he meant. Her face turned bright red.
She opened her mouth to speak, then swallowed her words.
Turning her head aside, she muttered, the tips of her ears glowing red, "...Are you sure it'll work?"
"Only one way to find out."
"...Then give me a moment to prepare."
"You don't need to. I'll take care of it."
Mirai's hand slid slowly upward from her waist. Naori closed her eyes, her lashes trembling slightly.
The dimension was quiet except for their breathing.
On the gray square, the Kunai and fragments of the target lay undisturbed in a corner, like a group of bewildered spectators.
Mirai transferred the God Tree's energy
