Ark Simulator, Am I Not Incorporeal?
"It certainly won't be a library, right?"
Su Rui fiddled with her phone for a few moments, then raised her hand and snapped a few photos of the library in front of her. These actions puzzled Theresa.
"Why did you choose this method, Su Rui, when you could have used scanning?"
"Since there's nothing to do, and you have to negotiate with someone later, if I don't take pictures, am I supposed to start a game? If I do, my game won't be over by the time you're negotiating..."
After Su Rui finished speaking, he couldn't help but pause for a moment. Right, why didn't he play games? After all, negotiations could be left to Theresa, right? Su Rui was just there as a mascot.
With this in mind, Su Rui looked down and opened the game on her phone, starting a round after it began.
"..." Theresa looked at Su Rui's expression, pursed her lips helplessly, then put her arm around Su Rui's shoulder and led her forward Su Rui had already started looking down at her phone.
The unusual combination of Theresa and Su Rui quickly attracted the Banshee in the "library," but they didn't react much. The Banshee sitting at the front desk, reading a book, only gently put down her book and looked up at Theresa after noticing Theresa and Su Rui approaching.
"What is it, visitor?" As she spoke, the Banshee couldn't help but glance at Su Rui, the handsome young man next to Theresa who was engrossed in his phone.
"Theresa, the current Demon King, has something to discuss with the Queen of the Banshee," Theresa explained with a smile.
"... We do not accept alliances or taking sides."
The Banshee's tone turned slightly colder, tinged with reluctance, but she still nodded. "I'll inform Lamalain now."
As she spoke, the Banshee's gaze kept drifting towards Su Rui. She couldn't help it; after all, the Valley of Tears was inhabited only by women, Banshee were a race that reproduced parthenogenetically. So, upon seeing Su Rui, the Banshee couldn't help but feel curious.
However, Su Rui didn't notice the stares around him because he was really engrossed in playing the game, so his attention wasn't on his surroundings.
Soon, the Banshee also received a message from the Banshee lord through magic and nodded to Theresa:
"Lamalain is waiting for you on the rooftop. Please follow this lantern."
As she spoke, the Banshee took out her staff and cast a spell on a lantern. The lantern then floated up and wobbled to Theresa's feet, guiding her upstairs with it.
Theresa nodded, then led Su Rui up the stairs, reminding Su Rui, "Watch your step on the stairs, don't trip."
"Okay, I understand." Su Rui nodded in response, but continued playing his mobile game, so Theresa could only continue leading him upstairs.
After about ten minutes, Su Rui realized something was wrong, ended the game, and looked up:
"Is there no elevator here? And why haven't we reached the end yet? Logically speaking, this building shouldn't be that tall."
Judging from the external scans, the tower should have reached its top by now.
Theresa also somewhat puzzled, but after looking around, she didn't show any emotional reaction.
"Don't worry about Su Rui, could you take a look around?"
"So that means there are postgraduate entrance exams, right?"
Su Rui opened the Scanning Vision and then drew the following conclusion:
"It's a paradox, or rather, the effect of magic. The stairs here are an infinite loop, so we might reach the top floor in one step, but end up at the bottom in the next."
Is there any solution?
"Why are you looking at me? You're the demon king, use your magic to think of a solution." Su Rui did have a solution, but he wanted to see if Theresa had one.
Prince of Kazdel: 323 He's mine, you're not allowed to lay a hand on him.
"Lamalain's magic is very profound, so even I, as the Demon King, may not be able to unravel the labyrinth she has woven."
As Theresa said this, she still took out the sword made of Originium: "But we have to try to know."
As she spoke, Theresa raised her sword, but did not swing it. Su Rui's Scanning Vision detected that the level of Originium energy in the surrounding area was gradually increasing. Theresa was casting a spell; or perhaps she was simply sensing the magic of this labyrinth, trying to interfere with or dispel it.
Su Rui didn't say anything, but leaned against the bookshelf on the staircase wall, Scanning Vision Theresa with her vision. Invisible Originium energy surrounded the Demon Lord of Kazdel, gradually extending outwards as she closed her eyes, exploring the entire labyrinth.
However, just as Theresa said, she was just an ordinary Demon Lord. Her authority over Originium and her special status and abilities within the Sarkaz race did not grant Theresa any special attack against magic.
After a brief moment of thought and searching, Theresa stopped casting the spell, opened her eyes, and looked at Su Rui:
"It seems I can't find a way out of this maze. Now it's up to you Su Rui, to come up with a solution."
Although Theresa was talking about failure, the expression on her face was one of expectant smiles.
She didn't seem frustrated at all by her failure; it was as if she had decided from the beginning to rely on Su Rui to solve the problem.
"Hmm... Since you put it that way, I do know where we can get out."
Su Rui raised an eyebrow, stood up from the bookshelf she was leaning against, walked over to Theresa, and took her wrist.
"Alright, stop standing there, let's get going."
As she spoke, under Theresa's questioning gaze, Su Rui pulled her along and continued upstairs.
"I thought you, Su Rui, would know that I had solved this maze."
"That would indeed be very good, showcasing your high level of magical skill, but I believe there is an even better, more excellent way: simply walk out of the maze."
As Su Rui spoke, she stopped, pulling Theresa's wrist:
"Watch closely, and from now on, follow my steps exactly as I walk."
It's like there's a tower that requires you to perform a wise action to enter. While figuring out how to perform that action is certainly a solution, actually climbing up the broken wall next to the tower is the true wisdom.
"Take three steps forward, then one step back, then take a big stride forward, directly onto the third step, and then we start running."
As Su Rui spoke, he guided Theresa through the steps of the puzzle. After a series of running sounds, Su Rui suddenly stopped, Su Rui Theresa just as quickly.
And then? Just as Theresa was about to ask, she saw Su Rui raise her hand and pick up a book from the bookshelf that looked a little different from the one in the card... It wasn't that different, but Theresa only noticed it after Su Rui picked it up.
Then, with the sound of pages turning, Theresa felt a moment of disorientation and suddenly found herself at the top of the tower. A veiled Banshee sat in a chair, tea and snacks laid out before her, smiling at Theresa and Su Rui.
"I've prepared some refreshments for you both. Please sit down and let's talk."
Su Rui didn't stand on ceremony and went straight to Lamalain, placing the book on another shelf specifically for displaying books, then reaching for a snack.
Su Rui gave up the spot directly opposite Lamalain to Theresa. In his view, he only needed to bring Theresa, and the rest was up to Theresa and Lamalain.
But after Su Rui sat down, Lamalain turned her gaze to Su Rui was already eating snacks and looking at her phone. "I've never heard of this person before."
"This is Su Rui, my strategist. He's the one who came up with many ideas for me, and he's also the one who brought me here."
Lamalain nodded. "I saw it. He solved my maze with almost no effort. I wonder if it was some kind of intuition?"
Theresa and Lamalain both turned their gaze to Su Rui.
Noticing the silence around her, Su Rui subconsciously looked up and saw their gazes.
Slowly finishing the pastry in her mouth, Su Rui reached for another piece before speaking:
"The specific thought process is actually quite complex, so would you like to hear how I solve this problem step by step?"
"No need." Lamalain shook her head slightly. She could tell that Su Rui was just joking and didn't intend to explain the matter in detail.
Therefore, Lamalain once again turned her attention to Theresa:
"So, you've come here for more than just to catch up, haven't you? Just so you know, the Banshee doesn't get involved in Sarkaz internal conflicts."
Theresa shook her head. "I won't force the Banshee to participate in this war. I only hope that after the war, you can contribute to the reconstruction of Kazdel, and..."
Theresa described some specific requirements, but Su Rui didn't pay attention. After all, these things could be handled with just a little distraction, and there was no need to waste time listening to them now. He just needed to take a look at the summary at the end.
So, Su Rui gradually became more focused on his phone, even stopping his snacks and concentrating on playing games. He didn't notice that Theresa and Lamalain next to him had already set their sights on him.
A smile flickered in Lamalain's eyes, and her gaze towards Theresa held a hint of teasing. "I never expected our Demon King to have this side to him."
"Ahem, don't say it out loud."
Theresa coughed lightly, wanting to pretend to distance herself from Su Rui a little, yet also feeling a bit reluctant.
After thinking it over, since Lamalain had already figured it out, Theresa stopped pretending and sat down next to Su Rui. She looked at Lamalain, smiled at her, and whispered, "You're not allowed to make a move, okay?"
"... His body bears more than just your marks." Lamalain didn't answer directly, but just smiled.
As the queen of the Banshee Lamalain can see many different marks, such as the marks left by the Sarkaz on Su Rui. If these marks are considered as a kind of scent, then Su Rui's body is now completely covered with the scent left by Theresa.
Like some kind of animal that marks its territory with scent, it asserts its sovereignty.
Prince of Kazdel: 324, let's fight!
"I would be happy to, and I believe the other Banshee would also be willing to offer some assistance to Kazdel, but the conditions you have proposed so far, Theresa, are not enough to convince us."
After Lamalain and Theresa discussed their terms, Ramallian couldn't help but wonder, "I think there's something you haven't mentioned yet?"
Theresa nodded and looked at Su Rui: "The last condition lies with Su Rui."
"What? Could it be an ancient Sarkaz relic?" Lamalain looked Su Rui up and down with suspicion, but she didn't see any trace of Sarkaz relic on Su Rui.
"Of course not, he can help you organize this library, as well as all the Sarkaz documents."
Theresa's lips curled into a smug smile, as if Su Rui's remarkable achievement was also related to her.
This was the result of Theresa and the Doctor's discussion. Many of the documents left by the Sarkaz were difficult to decipher, even for Banshee, due to the different meanings of the texts and the various unique spells.
Furthermore, some of the text might be a spell, which could lead to some incomprehensible phenomena during the translation process. However, Su Rui doesn't need to worry about these things. Even if Canon recites the complete spell incantation, it won't affect Su Rui.
"Is that so? Our library does indeed hold many difficult-to-classify books. If you can help us organize these books, I think it wouldn't be difficult to even get them on your side and help you win."
Lamalain looked at Su Rui with a more enigmatic expression. "Are you sure he can really do it?"
"Of course he can, but whether Su Rui is willing to do so also depends partly on you."
Theresa smiled. "He might make a small request or something."
"Absolutely no problem." Even Lamalain's tone couldn't help but carry a hint of urgency. "When do we start?"
"We should at least wait until Su Rui finishes this game."
Theresa said, reaching out to pinch Su Rui's cheek, "Su Rui, how about we take a short break after this game?"
"Okay, okay, you're helping me organize the materials, right? No matter how much, it won't take me much time."
While playing her game, Su Rui distracted herself by responding to Theresa and Lamalain's words, saying, "I don't have any other requests... it's up to you, Theresa."
So the two of them returned to the conversation between Lamalain and Theresa, but this time neither of them felt there was much to talk about. To some extent, these two "old women" were well aware of each other's gains and losses.
So, this is probably something like owing a huge favor.
So the two of them stopped worrying about it. Lamalain picked up her Bone Pen and used magic to contact the other Banshee:
"Bring some more snacks, and also, prepare to open the door to the ancient books room; a friend wants to help us translate and organize those documents and classics."
"Really?!" The surprised voice coming from the communication spell even made Su Rui look up in the direction of Lamalain.
Moreover, things seemed to have gotten lively on the other end of the communication line; the Banshee appeared to be pushing and shoving each other, vying for something.
"Let me do it, let me say it."
"I'll do it. These are ancient texts. Have you forgotten that you owe me a favor for helping you copy them? Go easy on me!"
"That won't do! This is an ancient book! I owe you a favor, and I won't give it up!"
"In my opinion... I should do it! Hey! Don't push me!"
"I got it! I want to be the first to see it!"
Su Rui stopped fighting altogether, pausing the fight and watching Lamalain's direction with great interest. Although he didn't quite understand why Banshee Banshee were so interested in those scriptures, he was eager to see their next reaction.
Will a fight break out? If a fight breaks out, should I fan the flames a little more?
Su Rui thought to herself, a mischievous smile creeping onto her lips. She was about to say, "If you want to see the classics I've translated and compiled, then... waaaah~"
Before Su Rui could finish speaking, Theresa covered her mouth, her long, slender fingers plunging into Su Rui's mouth, and then she pinched Su Rui's tongue.
"Don't do anything naughty now~" Theresa whispered in Su Rui's ear, but she didn't stop Su Rui from looking in Lamalain's direction.
The veiled Banshee Queen merely smiled at the intimacy between Theresa and Su Rui, then cleared her throat on the other end of the communication channel, instantly silencing the still-noisy Banshee on the other side.
"Alright, stop fooling around. Prepare some snacks and tea. If you're lucky, you'll soon be able to see the translated and edited classics."
After giving her instructions, Lamalain ended the communication and then gave Theresa and Su Rui a somewhat apologetic smile:
"These children are a laughing stock; they are all young Banshee, and it's quite common for them to lack composure in the face of such matters."
Theresa didn't seem to care, but Su Rui couldn't help but want to laugh, though he just curled the corners of his mouth without making a sound.
After all, mocking these two people's age would most likely lead to trouble.
Su Rui enjoys watching others make fools of themselves; being taught a lesson herself is hardly a joke for Su Rui.
"What mischievous idea are you hatching now?"
Theresa gently squeezed Su Rui's wrist, but didn't actually press the matter. Instead, she asked Su Rui, "Approximately how long will it take Su Rui to translate those ancient texts?"
