Ark Simulator, Don't I Have No Physical Form?
Volume 6, Chapter 389: The Shark's Eyes Turned Red
Forward, ever forward, a crushing victory! The enemy fell like wheat.
Skadi ran relentlessly through the city's corridors, and all the Deep Sea Cultists and Seaborn who tried to escape, attack, or were still unaware of the situation appeared utterly helpless in her presence.
With information provided by Su Rui's Scanning Vision, Skadi quickly rushed into the depths of the city block and noticed the enemies that Su Rui had marked in her field of vision.
Su Rui's voice also echoed in Skadi's mind at the same time, "There's a rather important stronghold inside, and there are hostages there. But be careful, the hostages might have been persuaded, or they might be acting. It's hard to be sure. I'll mark it out for you. Remember to be careful, don't make a move, but don't let your guard down either."
"I understand." Skadi breathed softly; even as Abyssal Hunters, continuous running and fighting was very physically demanding for her.
Before them stood a tall building, its main entrance locked. Although the main entrance wasn't a problem for Skadi, Su Rui didn't intend for Skadi to use it this time.
"Let's parkour in. Look at this route; with your mobility, you can easily get up there."
Skadi nodded. For some reason, Su Rui's voice made her even more excited, her blood rushing. Without thinking, she jumped toward the spot Su Rui had marked.
From low-rise to high-rise buildings, the external structures also served as climbing points. The Deep Sea Cultists inside the buildings showed no reaction and were unaware of Skadi's actions.
However, Su Rui did mark a Deep Sea Cultists who happened to be slacking off by the window and happened to see Skadi:
"Although he's noticed you, he's not really a threat. They can't escape anyway. If we rush in now, a surprise attack will catch them off guard."
Skadi nodded, took the main gun from the rooftop of the low building, and then sprinted directly towards the Deep Sea Cultists's gathering point. As her body crashed through the glass, the shimmering fragments seemed to be setting the stage for Skadi's arrival.
The Deep Sea Cultists were even taken aback when they saw Skadi, staring dumbfounded at the white-haired Aegir woman who had broken through the window, somewhat at a loss for what to do.
Before they could react, Skadi had already reached them, her greatsword cleaving them in two with almost no resistance.
Choosing to betray humanity naturally leads to this outcome. As time passed, Skadi, whose hands were already stained with a lot of blood, did not stop or hesitate. After wiping out the upper-level Deep Sea Cultists, she advanced downwards.
"Don't rush down. They know running away is pointless and plan to put up a fight, so let's give them a surprise. This building isn't as sturdy as they seem."
Su Rui marked a spot in Skadi's field of vision and then reminded her, "This is it. Just smash it down with your greatsword; that'll be the most effective."
Skadi nodded, raised her greatsword, and brought it down heavily.
With Su Rui's help in calculating, Skadi did not shatter the floor beneath her feet. Instead, she cut the floor at a specific angle, turning it into a floor slab that was pressed down by Skadi's weight.
As the feeling of weightlessness washed over her, Skadi landed heavily on a relatively intact floor slab beneath her feet, falling to the lower level. She vaguely heard screams and the sound of something being crushed, but Skadi, still in a downward spiral, had no time to think about anything else.
After several falls that broke through the floor, she finally landed on the first floor. Looking at the Deep Sea Cultists Deep Sea Cultists staring at each other in bewilderment, she stopped halfway up to the second floor and stared blankly at them.
"Look at their incredulous expressions, isn't it amusing? To die in astonishment rather than in terror, isn't that a kind of mercy?"
Su Rui's voice rang in her ears, and Skadi did not hesitate. She swung her greatsword and cleaved through the Deep Sea Cultists around her. These Deep Sea Cultists lost their lives in mid-air.
But even after they landed, their eyes still showed surprise.
As blood gushed forth and the crisp sound of bones shattering rang out, the remaining Deep Sea Cultists gradually reacted and rushed towards Skadi's direction.
Some terrified individuals couldn't help but back away, but in the chaotic environment, only a few lucky ones managed to escape. Some unlucky ones, while showing fear, were slashed by their fanatical companions as a warning.
"We won't survive if we try to escape now. If we kill her, we might still have a chance to get out!"
Accompanied by such battle cries, those people began to charge towards Skadi.
A pointless and hopeless charge, and even if they defeated Skadi, they would still have to face an entire fleet.
Moreover, they had no chance of defeating Skadi. With Su Rui's prompting, Skadi lightly hoisted her greatsword and calmly swung it to overwhelm a group of Deep Sea Cultists who rushed towards her. She didn't need to exert any force; the weight of the blade itself was enough to kill her opponents.
Then came a sweeping attack, and another group of Deep Sea Cultists rushed forward were cleaved away. Although they were not yet dead, their bones were shattered, and death was a foregone conclusion.
A few unlucky ones were even in the perfect position to unleash their power, and were cleaved in two by Skadi's greatsword.
The battle raged on until all the enemies fell, until the last enemy watched in terror as she approached with her sword drawn, retreating in fear.
The fanatical fervor made most of the Deep Sea Cultists completely unafraid of death; they even piled up mountains at the foot of Skadi.
But none of this affected Skadi's performance. The Deep Sea Cultists in front of her, seeing the corpses of his comrades scattered on the ground, collapsed in despair, throwing his weapon to the ground and begging for mercy as he retreated.
"Wait, please, I didn't mean to. I was forced to join them. I'm willing to provide information about them, could you...?"
Before he could finish speaking, Skadi was already in front of him, swinging her greatsword down as her body fell heavily to the ground, like a wine bottle that had been kicked and shattered.
Before finally swinging her sword, Skadi hesitated for a moment, asking Su Rui, "Should I let him go?"
"That's up to you. We don't need his information, but we can take him back for trial, however you like. Besides, in this situation, you can't handle the prisoners all by yourself."
Skadi's sword fell, and although her eyes were already a vivid blood red, at this moment, they were truly red.
Volume 6, Chapter 390: The Octopus with Eyes
"It seems you're experiencing some significant emotional fluctuations, which has affected you, perhaps, the deaths of individuals similar to yourself?"
Su Rui's voice rang in Skadi's mind again, calming her restless heart slightly, and then she began to look forward to Su Rui's next target:
"Where do we go next?" Skadi parted her dry lips slightly, exhaling hot white steam, her body also emitting steam due to the high temperature from her continuous movement.
Su Rui took a bottle of water from her System Space and tossed it to Skadi.
"Let's replenish our fluids first, be careful not to dehydrate. Then we'll find our next target. These city blocks have been almost completely infiltrated by the Deep Sea Cultists, which means they're large enough to support a Deep Sea Church bishop similar to Quintus or Amaya."
So, does that mean we can fight the mutated special-type Seaborn? Skadi's eyes lit up. Gladiia was directing the battle from the flagship, while Laurentina and Xikunda had been assigned to other directions by Su Rui and wouldn't be able to get over in a short time.
In other words, this hunt was essentially a one-woman show for her.
With this in mind, Skadi carefully observed every corner of her field of vision, waiting for Su Rui to give her a mark.
"Okay, but if you want to fight the boss alone, you'd better clear out the surrounding minions first. Oh, and take all the knives from these Deep Sea Cultists; use them as throwing weapons. I'll teach you how to use them."
Skadi nodded, retrieved all the knives that Su Rui Deep Sea Cultists had marked, and put them on her person. For some reason, Su Rui even had a special decorative belt for carrying a large number of knives, so Skadi easily collected all the knives and even had quite a few left over.
With this in mind, Skadi began to approach the area around the so-called "boss" location, clearing out the troublesome minions first.
Su Rui hoped the battle could be quieter, or at least not attract a large number of Deep Sea Cultists at once.
So, Su Rui marked the enemy not far away in Skadi's field of vision and guided Skadi to a place that was very suitable for infiltration and would not be easily detected.
These Deep Sea Cultists were ultimately not experts in patrol and security; their distribution was uneven and there were many blind spots.
So, following Su Rui's instructions, Skadi pulled a small knife from her belt, aimed, and threw it.
Su Rui's calculations took into account the potential errors in Skadi's movements and reactions. Therefore, as long as Su Rui gave the mark, even if Skadi didn't throw seriously, Su Rui's calculations would ensure that the knife she threw would "just happen" to hit the enemy not far away.
One by one, the Deep Sea Cultists surrounding the stronghold fell, and Skadi's previously racing blood calmed down a little. However, she became tense again because of something else.
That is, once Skadi gets used to this feeling, she also doesn't want her infiltration to be discovered. She wants to act silently, without being detected by anyone, and eliminate all enemies before her opponents notice.
The feeling was so amazing that Skadi even started calculating whether she had enough knives. After defeating enemies in an area, she would try to retrieve all the knives she had thrown out and collect more knives through Su Rui's marks.
By the time they reached the last area, Skadi had so many knives that she couldn't fit them all in her pocket.
"Alright, no need to collect anymore. The daggers you have are enough to give one to each of these last few soldiers. The remaining daggers can be used to carve a flower on that bishop."
Su Rui's voice echoed in Skadi's mind, "However, daggers are useless against bishops. Even if you happen to throw a dagger and unexpectedly destroy his brain, the remaining part will bring him back to life and allow him to continue fighting you."
Seaborn is such an unreasonable creature, or rather, having undergone biological modification, it can no longer be regarded as a creature of its original race.
Skadi nodded, no longer fixated on collecting more knives. The number of knives in her hand and on her body gradually decreased, and Skadi was getting closer and closer to her true goal.
However, the last step was a bit troublesome, because Skadi saw several Deep Sea Cultists surrounding the bishop marked by Su Rui, seemingly conducting research or simply doing nothing.
In short, she couldn't eliminate all the Deep Sea Cultists without anyone noticing before dealing with this guy.
"Alright. Stop worrying about it. When he summons the other Deep Sea Cultists later, he'll notice that you've already eliminated all the opponents."
As Su Rui spoke, she marked the most suitable location and the positions of the three Deep Sea Cultists minions in Skadi's field of vision:
"Right here, get ready, throw the daggers one after another, and you can take care of all the remaining Deep Sea Cultists before the bishop can react."
Skadi nodded, gripped several knives in her hands, and then threw them one after another in the direction marked by Su Rui.
Two daggers struck the Deep Sea Cultists directly, causing them to fall silently in front of the bishop. The remaining dagger bounced off the wall and struck the last Deep Sea Cultists in the eye and brain as he tried to react to see who was nearby.
Skadi was initially a little nervous when she noticed that the last knife missed, but after seeing it hit the target in that way, she felt a sense of accomplishment.
The bishop looked at Skadi with a puzzled expression. He noticed that after she threw the last few knives to the ground and her belt disappeared into thin air, he didn't quite understand the reason behind it, but he realized that Skadi had probably wiped out almost all of his men.
"Abyssal Hunters? I didn't expect that individuals like you weren't all wiped out... Fine, I'll make you all disappear."
As the bishop finished speaking, his body, hidden beneath his robes, began to twist and swell, like a dehydrated sponge soaked in water.
"It seems he doesn't even realize what he's saying."
Su Rui couldn't help but laugh, finding it somewhat amusing. At the same time, the bishop before her was undergoing his transformation, turning into... a giant octopus?
A giant octopus with eyes growing on its tentacles appeared before Su Rui and Skadi.
Volume 6, Chapter 391: Actually, you're also a dangerous element.
"This evolutionary pattern is somewhat similar to humans having eyes on their hands. What if, when a human wants to eat, the eye on their palm touches something very hot or sharp?"
Su Rui looked the tentacle-eyed octopus monster up and down with some curiosity. "And isn't this guy afraid of getting his tentacles cut off?"
Although the giant monster in front of them was staring intently at Su Rui and Skadi with eyes on its limbs, to Su Rui and Skadi, those fixed gazes along their spines were not frightening, but rather like the dying defiance of prey, somewhat ridiculous.
Skadi couldn't help but feel some resentment at those menacing gazes, and subconsciously urged Su Rui, "Shall we do it?"
"Of course, cut off all the eyes on its tentacles!"
As Su Rui spoke, she marked several weak points in Skadi's eyes to facilitate Skadi's destruction. As the octopus monster in front of her swung its tentacles covered in eyes at Skadi, Skadi, with Su Rui's assistance, simply turned around and swung her sword, severing one of the tentacles that was attacking her.
It looked like a perfectly coordinated attack, with the octopus monster willingly offering its tentacles to Skadi, who then severed them.
Sensing the pain, the octopus monster let out a silent roar, waving its tentacles in an attempt to continue attacking Skadi.
Its degenerated organs prevent it from making a sound; only its constantly writhing limbs express its pain and annoyance.
Skadi, however, paid no heed. She approached the monster, whose size had swelled to a certain extent before stopping, as if strolling leisurely. She swung her greatsword again, the sharp blade severing the tentacles at their roots. The monster's tentacles, however, were entangled together because Skadi was too close, making it difficult for her to reach Skadi.
"It seems this guy isn't familiar with his transformed body. Here it is. If you cut him open from the center, you can see his head, which isn't completely mutated. It's a bit like piloting a bio-Gundam. He's turned himself into a wet part. This bishop's ideas are a bit different from the others."
Skadi heard what Su Rui said, but she had her own ideas: 'I don't want to see his head, how about just killing him?'
"Of course, no problem. Although we can't see the look of despair on this guy's face when his head is ripped off, taking him out directly is no problem either. Let's do it."
Su Rui casually answered Skadi's question, and then saw Skadi, having received a response, thrust her greatsword straight out, striking the brain inside the octopus monster that she had marked—the one controlling the body.
The brain, pierced directly in the center by the greatsword, was not split in two by the force of the blade due to the cushioning effect of the body.
That's why the brain was shattered by the blunt force of the greatsword.
Fortunately, the brain is deep inside the monster's body, so Skadi cannot see such scenes.
Seeing the enormous creature before her lose its vitality and its limbs crash heavily to the ground, Skadi walked towards the outside of the building, which had been destroyed by the monster's earlier rampage, and took a few deep breaths of the fresh air.
"How do you feel? Relaxed? Relieved? Or excited and happy?"
Su Rui asked Skadi how she was feeling, and at least Skadi's previously violently beating heart began to slow down as the situation improved.
'I'm not sure... maybe both?'
Skadi, thinking this, casually answered Su Rui's question. After the battle, Su Rui strolled through the chaotic streets, having removed all the markings. Now, the city was as silent as if Skadi were the only person there.
Is there anyone left in this city?
"Of course there are more, but the remaining people aren't Deep Sea Cultists. At least in your area, all the Deep Sea Cultists have been dealt with. The opponents you missed when you were eliminating these enemies have also been taken care of by your team. In fact, they even captured prisoners and plan to take them back... Let me see."
Su Rui fell silent for a moment. Skadi tilted her head in confusion and waited for a while before hearing Su Rui's voice again:
"Even if we take this guy back for trial, according to Aegir's laws, it's no different from being dead."
' Aegir will punish prisoners in special ways, and we haven't ruled out the death penalty, but generally speaking, Deep Sea Cultists are unforgivable.'
Skadi nodded and sheathed her sword: 'Where are the others? How's Laurentina's progress?'
"She'll probably need a little more time, but if you get there from your position, Laurentina's battle will be almost over. The fairy still has some time; perhaps you'd like to take a walk here before heading back?"
As Su Rui spoke, she marked a general destination in Skadi's field of vision. "No rush, there's plenty of time, you can take your time."
'I'd rather walk with you.' Skadi shook her head, but following Su Rui's advice, she slowed her pace, carrying her greatsword, and walked slowly down the street where she was all alone.
"It's a pity I can't be with you right now. By the time I get off the flagship, you'll all be heading back to base."
Su Rui's voice rang out again, and then marked the scattered figures deep within the buildings along the street in Skadi's field of vision:
"Don't worry, these are just ordinary residents of the city, people who have no connection with the Deep Sea Church. Some of them are even secretly eyeing you, the hero who wiped out a large number of Deep Sea Cultists."
'They're probably just afraid of my power.' Skadi wasn't complacent because of Su Rui's words.
"That's for sure. In this chaotic situation, most people wouldn't be sure who they're facing. Maybe you're just a Deep Sea Cultists who disagreed with everyone else and wiped them all out?"
