Nightingale hurriedly wiped her eyes. "N-nothing, I just got some sand in my eye."

Su Rui looked suspiciously into the closed room. "... Sand?"

Shining suddenly spoke, "Su Rui."

"Um?"

"... nothing."

Su Rui felt that the two people were acting strangely today, but his teammates in the game had already started cursing him for AFK, so he had no choice but to put his questions aside for the time being.

Late at night, after Su Rui had fallen asleep, Shining and Nightingale stood on the balcony.

"Let's tell him anyway," Shining said.

The Nightingale gazed at the starry sky. "But..."

Do you want him to disappear without a trace?

The Nightingale fell silent.

Shining turned and walked towards the bedroom. "Tomorrow, we'll tell him together."

The Nightingale watched her retreating figure and nodded gently.

The next day at breakfast, Su Rui found her plate piled high with food.

"Uh, so much?"

The Nightingale smiled, "Eat more."

Shining shoved a piece of bread into his mouth. "Shut up, eat."

Su Rui: "???"

The morning sunlight streamed through the half-open curtains, casting warm dappled patterns on the wooden floor. Su Rui sat at the dining table, and just as he picked up his steaming coffee cup, he saw Shining and Nightingale standing on either side of him, their expressions unusually serious.

Nightingale's fingers gripped the edge of her apron tightly, her knuckles turning slightly white. She opened her mouth, then pursed her lips, her gaze flickering uncertainly. Shining, on the other hand, crossed her arms, her red eyes fixed on Su Rui, her brows furrowed, and her lips pressed into a straight line.

"Uh..." Su Rui put down his cup, the ceramic making a crisp sound as it collided with the wooden tabletop. "Are you trying to judge me?" He tried to ease the awkward atmosphere with a joke, forcing a smile.

Nightingale took a deep breath, her chest heaving noticeably. Her eyes began to redden, and her long eyelashes trembled slightly. "Su Rui, we... we have something very important to tell you..." Her voice grew softer and softer until it was almost a whisper.

Shining suddenly stepped forward, directly interrupting Nightingale's gentle opening remarks. "Your body will disappear in two weeks." Her voice was as cold and hard as iron, but there was a barely perceptible tremor at the end.

The room fell eerily quiet. The birdsong outside the window and the noise from the distant street all became indistinct. Su Rui could clearly hear her own steady breathing, as well as the slightly rapid breathing of the two people opposite her.

He blinked, his gaze shifting between the two sorrowful expressions. Suddenly, he burst out laughing, his shoulders shaking, the laughter sounding particularly jarring in the heavy air.

"That's it?" He tilted his head, a relaxed smile playing on his lips.

Shining's brow furrowed even more. She slammed her hand on the table, causing a few drops of liquid to spill from her coffee cup. "What are you laughing at?" she asked, her voice filled with suppressed anger.

The Nightingale's eyes widened, tears welling up in them, threatening to fall at any moment.

Su Rui raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, but his smile remained undiminished, "Don't be nervous, it's just that my body will disappear." He wagged his index finger, "My consciousness will transfer to another host and continue to exist. Like... um, moving?"

Nightingale looked up abruptly, a tear sliding down her cheek. "What?" Her voice suddenly rose, filled with incredulous surprise. "You mean... you won't really disappear?"

Shining loosened her clenched fist, her nails leaving deep crescent-shaped marks on her palm. She grabbed Su Rui by the collar and pulled him in. "Why didn't you say something so important sooner?" Although her tone was fierce, her tense shoulders visibly relaxed.

"Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!" Su Rui grimaced exaggeratedly, but didn't actually struggle. "You didn't ask! And I thought the Doctor told you..."

Nightingale suddenly pounced on him, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck, so tightly he almost couldn't breathe. Her face was buried in the crook of Su Rui's shoulder, warm tears soaking his collar. "That was too much..." her voice muffled, "We were so worried we didn't sleep a wink all night..."

Shining snorted coldly and suddenly reached out to cup Su Rui's face. Her palms were a little cold, but her fingertips trembled slightly. Before Su Rui could react, she kissed him fiercely, her teeth even hitting his lips.

"Huh?!" Su Rui's eyes widened, her hands awkwardly hanging in mid-air.

The kiss was rough and brief; when Shining pulled away, Su Rui's lips were already slightly red. She wiped her mouth, her earlobes turning a suspicious red. "This is punishment."

Nightingale released her embrace, glaring at him angrily, then suddenly leaned in and bit his neck. The slight sting made Su Rui gasp.

"This is punishment too!" Nightingale said, giving him another quick kiss on the cheek, like a sulking kitten.

Su Rui touched her neck, which was red from being bitten, and said, both amused and exasperated, "Is this a punishment or a reward...?"

Shining shoved him down onto the sofa, her long hair brushing against his cheek. A dangerous glint flashed in her red eyes. "Since time is limited, we can't waste it."

"Wait! My coffee isn't ready yet... um!"

The sunlight still gently bathed the three of them, and the aroma of coffee wafted slowly through the air. Nightingale chuckled and joined them, her slender fingers intertwining with Su Rui's.

Volume 12, Chapter 751: We Must Not Indulge Them

In the living room, Su Rui was intently staring at her phone screen, her fingers rapidly swiping across the virtual buttons.

"Left! There's someone in the bushes on the left!" he whispered, leaning forward unconsciously.

Suddenly, a faint, sweet fragrance wafted over, followed by a soft weight pressing down on his right shoulder. Nightingale leaned closer, a few strands of her long golden hair slipping onto Su Rui's arm, causing a slight tickle.

"Nightingale? I'm playing ranked..." Su Rui tilted her head slightly, but dared not make any big movements, for fear of affecting her gameplay.

"I know~" Nightingale's voice was tinged with laughter, and instead of backing away, she leaned even closer. "You do your thing, don't worry about me."

Her body heat seeped through the thin fabric of her clothes, making Su Rui's ears feel hot. What's more, Nightingale deliberately rubbed her cheek against his shoulder, like a spoiled kitten.

Just then, the sofa on the left suddenly sank. Shining had somehow moved over and stretched out her long legs, placing them directly on Su Rui's thighs.

"Shining?!" Su Rui's hand trembled, almost casting the wrong skill.

"Focus on your attack." Shining said expressionlessly, but reached out and pressed Su Rui's head towards him. "If you lose..."

Before he could finish his threat, Su Rui felt a chill run down his spine. He swallowed hard, forced to focus his attention on the situation—to his left was Shining, exuding a faint herbal scent; to his right was Nightingale's soft, comforting embrace; and in the game, his teammates were frantically sending signals.

"First blood!"

As the system notification sounded, Su Rui sighed in frustration, "See? Dead..."

Nightingale chuckled, showing no remorse whatsoever, and instead took advantage of the situation by wrapping her arms around his. "It's alright, resurrection takes 30 seconds~"

Shining simply reached out and ruffled his hair. "Noob."

"Hey! It was clearly you guys..." Su Rui's protest was interrupted by Nightingale's suddenly close face. Her beautiful blue eyes were inches away, her long eyelashes almost brushing against his cheek.

"What happened to us?" Nightingale tilted her head, looking completely innocent.

Su Rui was speechless, his heart pounding uncontrollably. Just then, the game's respawn countdown ended, and he frantically turned his gaze back as if grasping at a lifeline. "I... I'll finish this game first..."

Shining gave a soft hum, but didn't move his leg. Instead, he adjusted his position to make him more comfortable. Nightingale also quieted down, but remained close to him, occasionally twirling his clothes with her fingers.

Surrounded by the two, Su Rui struggled to finish the entire game. When the word "Victory" appeared on the screen, he breathed a sigh of relief, only to find himself half-lying on Shining's lap, with Nightingale leaning against his chest.

"Finished?" Shining looked down at him, her red eyes appearing exceptionally deep under the light.

The Nightingale also raised its head, a sly smile on its face, "Now, shouldn't you join us?"

Looking at their expectant eyes, Su Rui suddenly felt that winning or losing was no longer important. He smiled, put down his phone, and reached out to pull them both into his arms. "Okay, I'll do whatever you say today."

The last rays of the setting sun streamed in through the restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows, casting long shadows of the three people.

Nightingale gently pushed open the restaurant door, her Bell jingling softly. She turned to look at Su Rui behind her, a gentle smile playing on her lips, "The desserts at this shop are delicious."

Su Rui nodded, and just as he was about to take a step, he felt his clothes being gently tugged. Shining stood beside him, her expression still indifferent, but her fingers had quietly hooked onto his sleeve.

"... What's wrong?" Su Rui asked softly.

Shining turned her face away. "It's nothing."

But she didn't let go.

The restaurant was softly lit, and the wooden tables and chairs exuded a faint scent of pine. Nightingale chose a seat by the window and naturally sat to Su Rui's left. Shining paused for a moment, then silently sat down to his right.

The waiter handed over the menu, but Nightingale didn't open it. Instead, she leaned close to Su Rui and asked, "What would you like to eat?"

A few strands of her hair fell, brushing against Su Rui's cheek, carrying a faint scent of shampoo. Su Rui instinctively held her breath, her earlobes slightly burning. "I... I'm fine with anything..."

Shining suddenly reached out and pulled the menu towards herself. "Don't spoil him."

But as she spoke, her shoulder pressed tightly against Su Rui's, her body heat seeping through the thin fabric of her clothes.

After all the food was served, Nightingale picked up her fork and cut a small piece of cake.

"Want to try some?" She held the fork to Su Rui's lips, her eyes sparkling.

Su Rui opened her mouth a little shyly, the sweetness of the cake melting on her tongue.

"Is it delicious?" the Nightingale asked expectantly.

"Mmm, it's very sweet..."

Before he could finish speaking, a steak suddenly appeared on his plate. Shining, expressionless, handed him his own. "Don't just eat sweets."

Her movements were natural, as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world. But Su Rui noticed that her ears were slightly red.

Halfway through dinner, Nightingale suddenly whispered, "Su Rui, open your mouth."

Su Rui instinctively did as he was told, and a strawberry was fed to him. Nightingale's fingertips gently brushed against his lips, the touch warm and soft.

"Why are you all like this today?" Su Rui muttered softly, but couldn't hide the smile on her lips.

Shining picked up her water glass, took a sip, and said calmly, "Don't you like it?"

"No..."

"That's good."

She put down her cup and secretly took Su Rui's hand under the table.

As they left the restaurant, a cool night breeze blew. Nightingale walked to Su Rui's left and naturally took his arm. Shining walked to his right, not moving, but her pace was slow.

As the streetlights came on one by one, they overlapped the shadows of the three people.

"Next time..." Nightingale suddenly began, then stopped.

Shining glanced at her and replied, "Come again next time."

Feeling the warmth emanating from both sides, Su Rui nodded gently. "Yes, I'll come again next time."

His voice was soft, yet incredibly firm.

Nightingale gently took Su Rui's hand and led him to the observation deck at the city's highest point. Her skirt was slightly lifted by the evening breeze, and her long golden hair shone with a warm glow in the setting sun.

"We won't be disturbed here," she said softly, her voice almost blending into the wind.

Shining followed behind, her red eyes scanning the surroundings, only relaxing after confirming it was safe. She walked to the other side of Su Rui and stood beside him.

The three of them stood there quietly, watching the sun slowly sink below the horizon.

The Nightingale suddenly stirred, resting her head on Su Rui's shoulder. Her hair, carrying a faint fragrance, gently brushed against Su Rui's neck with each breath.

"Are you cold?" Su Rui asked.

The Nightingale shook her head, but leaned closer. "It's not cold."

On the other side, Shining's fingers subtly hooked onto the hem of Su Rui's clothes. Her movement was very light, as if she was afraid of being discovered, or perhaps it was some kind of unconscious action.

Volume 14, Chapter 752: First Arrival

Su Rui couldn't help but laugh, "Why are you guys being so clingy today?"

Shining turned her face away, her ear tips slightly red. "... Enough nonsense."

The Nightingale raised its head, its blue eyes reflecting the light of the setting sun. "Because I want to remember this feeling."

Her voice was soft, yet it sent a shiver down Su Rui's spine.

The sky gradually deepened in color, changing from golden red to deep purple. The first star quietly lit up, as if someone had accidentally pierced the darkness.

Nightingale suddenly turned around and cupped Su Rui's face in her hands. Her fingertips were a little cool, but her palms were warm.

"Su Rui," she looked earnestly into his eyes, "No matter where you are in the future, remember us."

Shining turned around as well, her red eyes shining brightly in the twilight. She didn't speak, but simply reached out and grasped Su Rui's wrist, her grip light yet impossible to break free from.

Su Rui felt something burning in his chest. He nodded, his voice a little hoarse. "Yes, definitely."

The morning sun shone through the thin mist onto the meadow, and dewdrops sparkled on the blades of grass. A gentle breeze carried the fresh scent of grass and earth.

The Nightingale carried a basket full of ingredients and walked briskly ahead. Her white dress swayed gently with her steps, and her long golden hair shimmered softly in the morning light.

"Under that tree, isn't it?" she asked, turning around, her blue eyes filled with anticipation.

Su Rui nodded, carrying a makeshift grill on her shoulder. "Great spot, open view and shady."
