Dr. Kal'tsit seemed to have become busy again, continuously looking through her personal terminal.
Outcast quietly drank a cup of coffee, and it looked as though the sugar cubes were about to overflow from it.
The rest of them could only squeeze together on the bed.
Although the vehicle had lavishly been fitted with a 1.8-meter bed, it was still an RV layout with a low ceiling, making it inconvenient to sit up in bed.
Blaze gave Fengling a deliberately forced seductive smile, then patted the mattress to signal for her to climb up quickly.
Fengling froze for a moment, then said with helpless amusement, "What kind of expression is that, Blaze? That really doesn't suit you!"
After taking off her breathable short boots, Fengling lay down on the mattress.
"Really...? That's how they do it in TV dramas..." Blaze muttered softly.
"Everyone ready? Then we're setting off. Be careful not to fall!"
Ace's voice came from the driver's cabin.
Then the vehicle started moving.
Even with such a large bed, cramming four people onto it was a little crowded. Fortunately, Amiya and Rosmontis were both quite petite.
For safety's sake, Fengling and Blaze gave the middle spots to Amiya and Rosmontis.
Rosmontis naturally buried her head against Fengling's chest as Fengling lay on her side.
"Fengling, tail."
Rosmontis poked Fengling's soft lower belly with a finger and made her request in that soft, sweet voice.
"Okay."
With practiced ease, Fengling used her three fluffy, soft tails to gently cover Rosmontis's small body. She even had enough left over to cover Amiya as well.
That big cat Blaze was out of luck!
"Ooh! It's here! The Vulpo lady's tail blanket that Rhodes Island's Feline operators have been longing for!"
Blaze gently kneaded one of Fengling's tails. The soft, fluffy feel made it hard for her to let go.
"What kind of bizarre rumor is that..." Fengling complained helplessly.
"Hey, Fengling, you don't know this, but while you were gone these past few days, Feline operators often left the Ecological Botanical Garden at noon looking completely disappointed."
Why did Blaze even know about that in the first place?!
"So Fengling is the person behind that rumor?" Amiya was usually too busy to pay much attention to such things, but she had heard some related gossip.
Something about Rhodes Island's new Seven Great Mysteries.
Parentheses: there were already far more than seven. End parentheses.
One of the newest ones was, "Every noon, a trap specifically designed to attract Feline operators appears in Rhodes Island's Ecological Botanical Garden. Legend has it that any Feline operators who investigate are captured, and it takes them a long time to escape the Ecological Botanical Garden."
"Um... how did everyone turn something so simple into something so outrageous?" Amiya's little face was filled with disbelief.
Could something that only required one look to understand really develop into all kinds of bizarre stories?
"Life aboard the ship gets boring over time. Rumors like this add a little fun to daily life. Even if someone comes to investigate, everyone tacitly leaves a little surprise for one another in the end." Blaze understood how such things happened. "Besides, Fengling's tails really are comfortable. It's normal for rumors like this to get exaggerated."
"True." Amiya rubbed her face against Fengling's tail.
It was soft and carried a faint fragrance.
A comfortable smile appeared on Amiya's face.
"There's still quite a while before we get back. Sleep."
Through her tails, Fengling gently patted Rosmontis and Amiya.
Last night's fooling around had clearly left the two little ones short on sleep.
Under Fengling's soft, patient coaxing, Rosmontis and Amiya's breathing gradually steadied.
It looked like they had fallen asleep.
The cabin became quiet again.
Ace and the others were highly skilled drivers. Even this kind of specialist truck rode very smoothly.
In such a peaceful environment, Fengling's eyelids gradually began to droop, and she fell asleep.
Only the occasional rustling sound of Dr. Kal'tsit writing remained.
And the tiny, crisp clink whenever Outcast gently set down her cup.
"What remarkable affinity. Where did you find this girl, Kal'tsit?"
Watching the scene before her, Outcast quietly asked Kal'tsit.
Kal'tsit stopped writing.
It seemed she intended to rest for a while.
She raised her head and looked at the scene not far away.
Blaze was already sprawled out asleep.
Beside Blaze, Fengling used her tails to protect Amiya and Rosmontis well, allowing the little rabbit and kitten to sleep quite sweetly.
"She found Rhodes Island."
A faint smile appeared on Kal'tsit's face.
Seeing such a rare smile on Kal'tsit's usually calm face, Outcast froze for a moment before smiling as well. "It seems you're very satisfied with her."
"Not missing out on an operator so compatible with us... is Rhodes Island's good fortune." Kal'tsit reached toward the empty cup beside Outcast. "Coffee. Give me a cup as well. Hmm... no sugar."
Kal'tsit stopped Outcast from trying to pour the sugar cube jar into the coffee cup.
Laterano tastes were a little hard to handle, even for people who generally liked sweets.
"What a pity. I was planning to let you try my new secret recipe."
Outcast sighed regretfully.
"...No need." Kal'tsit seemed to squeeze those three words out through clenched teeth.
Outcast's desserts were actually quite good, but personal tastes differed.
And not everything could be defined through sweetness.
At least for this cup of coffee, Kal'tsit would rather savor the unique fragrance time had bestowed upon it.
This small journey had encountered a few accidents along the way, but it had ultimately come to a perfect conclusion.
Kal'tsit took a light sip of the coffee in her cup.
It was rich and bitter.
But after the aftertaste lingered, a faint sweetness seemed to bloom on the tip of her tongue.
Fengling Topped Up an Order for You
When the vehicle noticeably began to slow down, Fengling, who had only been lightly asleep, immediately woke up.
Looking out the window, Rhodes Island's main vessel was right before her.
A sense of relief rose naturally within her.
They were home.
Her movement also woke Rosmontis and Amiya.
Except for Blaze, who was completely dead asleep.
The vehicle door opened. After nodding to Outcast, Kal'tsit got out first.
After letting Rosmontis and Amiya get out as well, Fengling prepared to give Blaze some thoughtful wake-up service.
"Blaze's sleeping posture... really is full of unrestrained spirit..."
The scorching Blaze wore only a short shirt beneath her Rhodes Island uniform jacket. Because of her sleeping posture, the shirt had ridden up, exposing her pale waist and lower abdomen, where the faint outline of abs could almost be seen.
Fortunately, there were only women in the cabin.
Fengling hurriedly straightened Blaze's clothes and patted her face.
"Blaze, wake up! We're at Rhodes Island... Eek!"
Still asleep, Blaze grabbed Fengling's hand with great force, as though she had dreamed of something.
Thrown off balance, Fengling crashed straight onto Blaze's chest.
Well, that was literally heart-to-heart wake-up service.
She had crashed right onto her!
Fortunately, there was plenty of cushioning, so Fengling did not hurt at all.
Blaze, however, might not have been so lucky...
Fengling's high-density body was quite heavy...
This impact meant Blaze had to wake up, whether she wanted to or not.
"Huh? Has the Vulpo lady from the rumors, who captures Felines, finally decided to make a move on this big cat?"
"...Maybe let go of my hand before you say that. Then it might be a little convincing." Fengling shot Blaze an annoyed glance.
"Hehe... Ow, you little brat!"
After Blaze sheepishly let go, Fengling retaliated a little by deliberately pressing down on Blaze's body as she pushed herself up.
"We're home~" Fengling stretched lazily and headed for the vehicle door first.
At the last moment, Fengling turned sideways, touched her chin with one hand, and smiled at Blaze. "Even though Blaze acts so carefree, almost like a boy, your body is still really soft~ Hehe~"
That smile was brimming with seduction.
Then Fengling mischievously stuck out her tongue and darted out of the vehicle, leaving behind only a fragrant breeze.
Blaze froze for a moment.
Then her face flushed red, and she wore an embarrassed, indignant expression as she covered herself with both hands.
"I... I got flirted with by that damn brat?!"
But it had to be said...
She really was a Vulpo from Great Yan...
Even a proper young girl like Fengling was bewitchingly alluring when she suddenly flirted with someone...
Blaze rubbed her slightly dizzy head.
How terrifying, Fengling!
"In a few more years, this girl will probably become the kind of beauty who brings disaster."
Grumbling to herself, Blaze hurriedly got out of the vehicle as well.
After returning safely to Rhodes Island, Fengling still needed to properly report back to Instructor Dobermann.
After saying goodbye to everyone, Fengling went to find Instructor Dobermann.
"Operator Fengling, reporting in, Instructor!"
Though she was covered in a little dust from the road, when Fengling appeared before Dobermann full of energy, Dobermann still let out a slight sigh of relief.
Dobermann had been waiting at Rhodes Island's vehicle Moon Pool.
Lately, she had been doing this often, waiting here regularly.
Whenever the reserve teams returned, Dobermann was always the first to appear before them.
As strict as she was during training, she was equally gentle and meticulous at times like these.
Having personally trained the reserve teams, Dobermann held deep affection for every one of them.
And although Fengling was the only squad in this mission to head out alone, despite Dobermann's prior comprehensive assessment, she could not help but worry.
