Rhodes Island is a comparatively new medical company whose reputation first spreads through reports of advanced, low-cost treatment for the Infected, including arrangements in which treatment expenses can be exchanged for work. Its public recognition is initially limited largely to groups directly affected by Oripathy. 2 3

The company operates from an older landship that previously served Babel, a Sarkaz faction led by Theresa that advocated peaceful coexistence among Terra’s races. Babel failed, but its landship and part of its legacy remained; the name Babel is later treated as classified within Rhodes Island. 99 137

Rhodes Island does not present itself as morally flawless, but identifies “fighting for the living” as its belief. Its personnel pursue different methods while sharing the broad goal of eliminating Oripathy’s impact on Terra. 31 99
