Background / History

Previous life and transmigration

Qi Si was an actor in his previous life. After refusing the traffic-idol route and focusing on his craft, he earned a Best Actor award, rose to international prominence, and later founded an entertainment company that cultivated both popular idols and capable actors. His overwork eventually ruined his health and led to his death. 22 104

After dying, Qi Si transmigrated into the world of a novel and was reborn into the Qi Household. He eventually learned that he was written as cannon fodder whose role would bring ruin to the Qi family and leave Qi Wang dead. Determined to change that ending, he prioritized protecting his family over following the novel's plot. 313

Kidnapping and experimentation

As a child, Qi Si was kidnapped alongside Bo Fuyu and Shen Shuyu. Jiang Zhijie subjected him to psychological experiments intended to create a “god” with multiple coexisting personalities. Qi Si's primary personality initially suppressed the personalities Jiang created, but prolonged manipulation and torture eventually caused a breakdown. 168 312

During the experiments, Qi Si secretly learned enough hypnosis to place a psychological suggestion on himself: information concerning his previous life could not be exposed. He accepted further experimentation only after Jiang agreed to release Shen Shuyu and Bo Fuyu. 312 429

Following treatment, Qi Si returned with a drastically altered, rebellious temperament and later became fixated on Lin Weiwei. After collapsing at a club, he woke again with another marked change in personality—the version Qi Wang recognized as his more obedient younger brother. 168

Life after awakening

After his hospitalization, Qi Si began consciously distancing himself from the original plot. He stopped leaving his problems to chance, grew closer to Qi Wang, treated Xiao Chou as a genuine friend, and pursued Bo Yanqi after meeting him under the racer identity “Augus.” 12 15 18

His investigation into Morning Light Orphanage and the blind auction on a cruise ship triggered headaches, flashbacks, and the return of suppressed memories. Qi Wang and Bo Yanqi eventually told him that the threat from eighteen years earlier had resurfaced, forcing Qi Si to confront the possibility that his fractured memories and personality shifts were connected to Jiang Zhijie's experiments. 155 165 169

Appearance

Qi Si is notably fair and delicate-looking, with a face repeatedly described as outstandingly attractive. His frail appearance and harmless eyes often cause others to underestimate him. 16 41 49

  • Fair, pale complexion; his skin is described as soft and tender. 41
  • Almond-shaped, wide-set eyes with large pupils; even his glare can look more cute than threatening. 12
  • Long bangs and androgynous features in high school led teachers to mistake him for a girl before roll call. 10
  • Was frequently sickly and absent from school in his youth. 10 49
  • Previously wore gold-rimmed plain-lens glasses to appear less easy to bully. 12

Personality

Qi Si is sharp-tongued, confident, and prone to teasing people he trusts. He often uses jokes to conceal what he truly wants or fears, a habit Bo Yanqi recognizes immediately. 426

Despite his spoiled-young-master image, he is highly protective of those he considers family or companions. His choice to endure Jiang Zhijie's experiments was motivated by a desire to free Shen Shuyu and Bo Fuyu, while his greatest concern after realizing the scale of the conspiracy was Qi Wang's safety. 169 312

He can remain unusually composed in dangerous situations once he understands his value to an opponent. While held hostage by Jiang Zhijie, Qi Si concluded that he was too valuable to be killed and used that knowledge to regain control of the conversation. 341

Qi Si also carries deep anxiety about abandonment, identity, and change. Encounters with his alternate personalities and the altered status of people around him leave him feeling displaced, even as he forces himself to adapt. 383 392

Abilities & Skills

Acting

Qi Si possesses extensive acting experience from both lives and is willing to prioritize compelling roles over status, screen time, or pay.

  • Won Best Actor in his previous life before founding an entertainment company. 104
  • Quietly joined The Wind Rises as its fourth male lead and studied other performers between his own scenes. 449
  • Became the drama's breakout performer; scenes featuring him consistently raised its metrics. 470
  • Rejected two lead roles in favor of a more substantial villainous supporting role. 470
  • Later won Best Actor every year after Dawn. 480

Hypnosis and Psychological Resistance

Qi Si's resistance to psychological manipulation made him Jiang Zhijie's most difficult test subject.

  • Withstood repeated attempts to break his will during childhood experimentation. 312
  • Learned hypnosis by observing Jiang's methods while pretending to struggle. 312
  • Placed a self-directed psychological suggestion to protect the secret of his previous life. 312 429
  • Can sense and suppress the personalities within himself, though their number made permanent suppression impractical. 373 374

Resourcefulness

Qi Si adapts quickly when conventional solutions fail.

  • Earned meal money during a variety-show task by playing Chinese chess with village elders and framing it as paid companionship rather than gambling. 66
  • Remained provocative and alert after being abducted in G City, refusing to be intimidated by Jiang Honghu's men. 259
  • Set an emergency distress signal on his phone before entering a potentially dangerous gathering. 391

Alternate Personalities

Jiang Zhijie's experiments created numerous secondary personalities within Qi Si. Most were suppressed by Qi Si's primary personality, but their reemergence caused memory loss, behavioral shifts, and periods in which different personas controlled his body. 168 373 379

Qi Si ultimately chose to absorb the personalities rather than allow them to endanger others. The process caused unpredictable persona switches, including one that believed itself to be an emperor and assigned courtly identities to everyone around him. 374 378

One weaker secondary personality, A Si, was not truly absorbed. Qi Si allowed him three days of control to fulfill his wishes, then later preserved his consciousness rather than erase him. 462 481

Bionic AI Project

Qi Si and Bo Yanqi secretly funded research into Bionic AI to give A Si an independent body. Qi Si relied on his wealth to hire specialists after acknowledging that scientific research was outside his own expertise. 481

  • A Si's consciousness was first awakened in a mechanical body. 481
  • Researchers later transferred him into a humanoid android body resembling Qi Si. 482
  • Qi Si and Bo Yanqi eventually introduced A Si to Qi Wang, who welcomed him back as his younger brother. 483

Relationships

  • Qi Wang — His older brother, guardian, and most important family member. Qi Si trusts Qi Wang's protection completely and later becomes equally concerned about Qi Wang's health and happiness. 104 111 169
  • Bo Yanqi — His lover and fiancé. Qi Si initially pursued him after meeting “Augus,” then gradually built a relationship based on mutual protection, teasing, and trust. 15 68 121 371
  • A Si — A secondary personality with whom Qi Si shares an unusually intimate bond. Rather than destroy him, Qi Si preserves his consciousness through Bionic AI. 462 481 482
  • Xiao Chou — A friend Qi Si begins treating as a younger brother rather than a disposable figure from the original plot. Xiao Chou later helps him locate a reliable private detective. 12 155
  • Yu Zhen — Private detective and longtime supporter of the Qi brothers following their parents' death. Qi Si works with her on the orphanage case and shares a playful, competitive friendship with her. 155 163 407
  • Shen Shuyu — A childhood companion and fellow kidnapping victim. Qi Si distrusts her at times but once accepted Jiang Zhijie's experiments to secure her release. 153 312
  • Bo Fuyu — A former classmate, childhood companion, and recurring rival. Qi Si's hostility toward him is tied to both the original plot and resurfacing memories of the childhood bus crash. 10 240
  • Lin Weiwei — The original novel's heroine and the target of Qi Si's plot-driven pursuit. He later rejects her attempts to reconnect and refuses to follow the role originally assigned to him. 95 225 392
  • Jiang Zhijie — The psychologist and captor responsible for the experiments that fractured Qi Si's consciousness. Qi Si views him as the person who ruined his life. 312 350
  • Hong Jie — His agent in his new acting career. She supports his unconventional role choices and helps him transition from minor roles to high-profile projects. 468 470

Story Role / Major Arcs

Defying the original novel

Qi Si enters the novel's world knowing that its plot would destroy the Qi Household. Rather than compete for Lin Weiwei as the original “Qi Si” did, he attempts to sever the alliance between Bo Yanqi and Bo Fuyu while protecting Qi Wang from the story's intended ending. 95 225 313

Reality-show period

Qi Wang secures Qi Si considerable freedom on Go! All-Round Charge!, where Qi Si becomes known for exploiting tasks creatively, arguing with director Xiang Qianchong, and publicly proving his connection to Bo Yanqi during a livestream. 22 66 121

Orphanage investigation and G City

After finding names and photographs connected to Morning Light Orphanage, Qi Si hires Yu Zhen to investigate. The case draws him to G City, where Jiang Honghu's men abduct him in an attempt to force Bo Yanqi back to the Jiang Family. 155 249 259

Recovery of traumatic memories

Qi Si's memories of the kidnapping, the bus crash, and Jiang Zhijie's experiments gradually return. He learns that his apparent transmigration is real, but that the experiments also created secondary personalities and obscured much of his childhood. 240 312 313

Personality integration

Following Jiang Zhijie's return and the reappearance of multiple personas, Qi Si decides to absorb the personalities within himself. The process reveals the existence of a personality claiming to be the body's original owner and culminates in Qi Si returning to his original self after confronting the “original host” personality. 374 383 464

Acting career

Qi Si returns to acting through minor roles, gains public recognition through The Wind Rises, and deliberately selects challenging villain roles over safer lead parts. His sustained dedication eventually makes his Best Actor wins an expected fixture of major award ceremonies. 468 470 480
