"What exactly are these immortal monsters?"
"Who the hell knows? But I saw these monsters eating people. They're no longer our comrades."
Two ninjas guarded the captured monsters. Some had numbness in their eyes, some were cruel, and another group stared madly at the people around them.
The man-eating demons had regained their sanity. Some, unable to bear the fact that they had become monsters, wanted to commit seppuku.
But a cruel reality lay before them. No matter how hard they tried, they had to accept one fact: they no longer even had the right to kill themselves.
With such terrifying regenerative abilities, even severed heads could be reattached, let alone a wound across the abdomen.
When they entered the interrogation room, they found that all the prisoners had had their throats slit. Realizing something was wrong, they hurriedly shouted that they were under attack.
Having just gone through the chaos caused by the man-eating demons, the ninja forces were already on edge. At the shout of an enemy attack, several ninjas immediately rushed over.
Considering that all the dead were Konoha personnel, along with the day's chaos, this had to be something the other side had planned in advance.
"Damn it..."
Watching a group of people crowd into the interrogation room, Muzan clung tightly to the ceiling. His hands opened into mouths, securing his body firmly in place. At this moment, he did not dare move an inch.
Using the blind spot in their vision, as long as no ninja deliberately looked up, he had no risk of being exposed.
"These people were all killed in a single blow."
The investigators rushed over in a panic. Noticing the wounds on the corpses, their expressions turned grave as they reached the most likely conclusion.
"They felt no pain when they died. It had to be Konoha ninjas. There are still Konoha spies among our troops!"
Naturally, this had to be reported to Lord Killer B. Yet when Killer B arrived, he noticed a strange aura in the interrogation room.
He was the Eight-Tails' jinchuriki. With the Eight-Tails' power, he could be considered half a sensory ninja.
"There's a very strange aura in the interrogation room. That guy is hiding in there."
Following his usual line of thought, Killer B's first reaction was to look at the corpses around him.
He immediately ordered the bodies on the ground destroyed, but even after all of them were disposed of, there was still no sign of the enemy.
"Strange. Where exactly is he hiding?"
The Transformation Jutsu could not fool his eyes. Every ninja present was genuine.
Suddenly, Muzan, who was above them, sensed danger. That hair-raising feeling made him react at once.
"Bang!"
"So you were hiding up there."
Killer B's strike blew the entire interrogation room's roof away. Seeing the figure fall, the people around him closed in, cutting off Muzan's escape routes.
The opponent had merely struck casually, yet a savage wound had appeared across Muzan's chest.
"A blade wound..."
Muzan landed on the ground and looked up at Killer B, who stood amid the crowd with ninja swords strapped to his back.
"Mujie!"
Several people in the Cloud Ninja group recognized the face beneath the black robe. They could not believe that Mujie before them would betray them, and some immediately demanded answers.
"Mujie, you idiot, what the hell did you do?!"
"You can't possibly defeat Lord Killer B. Put down the weapon in your hand!"
Muzan answered only with a cold sneer. It was impossible to escape safely from here, but they would not be able to catch him either.
"It seems this battle tonight is unavoidable."
He drew a ninja sword from behind his back, focusing his mind at that moment.
As the leader of this operation, how could Killer B fail to recognize his own subordinate?
"You idiots, he isn't Mujie!"
Although the other man's appearance and build were exactly the same as Mujie's,
that aura was extremely cold and sinister, more like those who had rioted in the camp earlier. "You were the one who caused the chaos in the camp, weren't you? If you can turn them back to normal..."
Before Killer B could finish his sentence, Muzan interrupted him. Killer B's face darkened; he hated being interrupted while speaking.
"You talk too much!"
His words matched his actions, and the moment he moved, he showed no mercy.
The two ninjas who had just wanted to plead for him had now become two corpses.
As a master swordsman, Killer B's pupils suddenly contracted, because he saw traces of the White Fang of Konoha in the other man's movements.
"You lot, move aside! Guard the perimeter and don't let him escape. Leave this guy to me!"
Muzan and Killer B were not comparable at all. Even with his powerful regeneration, Muzan had no ability to fight back against the other man's slashes.
After all, the man before him was a Kage Level powerhouse. Whether in taijutsu or ninjutsu, he stood among the foremost ranks of the Shinobi World.
"Clang!"
Muzan gripped his sword with both hands and blocked the strike, but then another blade pierced through his body.
Compared to Muzan's endurance, Killer B was even more shocked. That terrifying regenerative ability, along with the lack of any signs of madness, combined with the man's identity as a Konoha ninja...
Killer B thought of someone from Konoha—more precisely, a predecessor.
The First Hokage!
He tried every kind of slashing method, yet none could inflict any obvious damage on Muzan.
Every slash that cut through him was immediately healed by his body. He was even more terrifying than those madmen.
"If that's the case, then I can only use a wide-range attack and make it impossible for you to regenerate!"
At this moment, chakra surged all over Killer B's body, and a layer of red chakra wrapped around him.
If Killer B had still seemed somewhat goofy before, now his personality was filled with brutality.
"Bang!"
"Cough, cough!"
Muzan was sent flying by the other man's punch. Being treated like a punching bag really felt awful.
"You've been hitting me for so long. Feeling good? Now it's my turn!"
He had no means of defeating the other man, but he was not merely a punching bag.
Invisible lashes filled the entire area, attacking from every direction without blind spots. The few people who had surrounded him earlier bore the brunt of it, huge sprays of blood bursting from their bodies.
"Ah!"
"Help! I feel like something is tearing my body apart!"
"Lord Killer B, save us!"
Under the dense barrage of lashes, their bodies were ripped directly into pieces. By the time Killer B tried to stop it, it was already too late.
Killer B, standing at the very front, naturally sensed the attack as well. That invisible force struck his chakra cloak, causing waves to ripple across it.
But it did not harm him. The chakra cloak's defensive strength was formidable, but the people beside him had no such protection, and the opponent's attacks were vicious.
This was also Killer B's mistake. He had always believed that aside from powerful regeneration, the opponent had no other effective means of attack. Muzan's disguise had deceived him, causing losses.
"What?!"
