Background / History

Macken was summoned by Luo Ning through the Seven-Day Login Interface during the Betrayer guards' ambush. He immediately recognized Luo Ning as his master and swore to protect him. His intervention turned the encounter into a decisive counter-kill, as he killed three Betrayers and broke the survivors' will to resist. 9

At first, Macken had no recollection of a hometown or personal history. He retained everyday knowledge, literacy, combat movements, and a powerful fighting instinct, but regarded Luo Ning as his sole master and pledged lifelong service. Luo Ning perceived their bond as a master-servant contract with a condition that would prevent Macken from surviving his master's death. 10

Luo Ning appointed him Guard Officer, personal protector, swordsmanship instructor, and sparring partner. Macken also took charge of drilling the guards in formation work, close combat, swordsmanship, and later archery. 10 17 72

Upon reaching Advanced Knight, Macken recovered a major memory fragment: he had once been the Regimental Commander of the Blazing Flame Expeditionary Army's Seventh Knight Order. This established that he had formerly served under Rydal Mein, the army's Commander. 59 60

Appearance

Macken is a broad-chested, powerfully built blonde man described as sturdy as a mountain. He presents himself with a resolute, steady expression and carries himself with the disciplined bearing of a knight. 9

Macken is intensely loyal, formal, and duty-driven. He consistently addresses Luo Ning as his lord or master, accepts orders without hesitation, and places Luo Ning's safety above other concerns. 9 10 20

He is modest about his achievements, crediting victories to allies even when his own strength is decisive. After the recapture of Black Pine Mountain, he attributed the victory to the cooperation of several Knight Orders rather than claiming personal credit. 461

Despite this steadiness, Macken is eager for battle and welcomes difficult assignments. He openly sought the chance to lead the capture of Moore City and looked forward to fighting the Vera Duchy. 539 547
