"Hey, who did I think it was? What brought Director Wan out for drinks?"
"Take a look, everyone. Director Wan even had an Omega with him. Didn't they say he kept himself clean? Looks like the rumors were wrong."
"Don't pull that face, Director Wan. We were just chatting. Don't be so petty."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Director Wan, don't be so stingy. We were only talking. We're all friends here."
Several Alphas blocked the doorway, spouting sarcastic remarks.
They were simply trying to make him uncomfortable.
They thought he would not make a move.
Wan Ying stood at the front desk, shielding Bian He behind him. "Fair enough. Then let me greet my friends."
Icy mint, brimming with aggression, suddenly swept toward the four men.
His lips curled, his eyes filled with malice. "I was just joking with you. You won't die from it, right?"
Disgusting trash always thought they were something special.
He had not intended to cause trouble, but if they provoked him again and again, then sorry—he was no pushover, nor did he have the patience to indulge them.
Before they could flee, they were instantly restrained by his pheromones. Unable to breathe, they collapsed to the floor and groaned in agony.
Before long, all their faces had turned red, as though they could not catch their breath and were on the verge of death.
Someone tugged at his sleeve.
When he looked up, worry flickered in Bian He's eyes. "Brother, I'm scared."
Wan Ying dispersed his anger and led Bian He upstairs by the hand.
As for the people lying on the floor, they were not dead.
If they dared to risk their lives demanding an explanation from him, he would not mind giving them one.
The staircase was narrow, and the two walked one behind the other.
Bian He deliberately walked behind the man and turned to glance at the people by the entrance.
They dared disturb his rest.
They deserved to die.
At the entrance.
"Fuck, that hurts like hell."
"Wan Ying has no sense of public decency. He actually released oppressive pheromones in public. That mad dog has no morals at all."
"I told you not to provoke him. If you hadn't insulted him, he wouldn't have attacked you."
"Phew... I almost thought I was going to suffocate to death. That was close."
"How are you guys? Are you okay? Get up, quick."
"This is fucking humiliating. If anyone saw us like this, they'd laugh their heads off."
They supported one another and were just about to get to their feet.
With a thud.
All four of them dropped to their knees at once.
A powerful pheromone attack crashed down on them, pinning them so hard they could not stand.
They slammed heavily to the ground, as though a thousand pounds were crushing them.
"Help... help me, I can't move my legs..."
"What's going on? Whose pheromones are these?"
"My... my phone, call someone quickly. I think my bones are cracking."
Terror filled their faces as they pulled out their phones and called for help.
Not long after, an ambulance arrived, and the four men were carried inside.
The farce ended, and the entrance fell quiet again.
In the private room upstairs.
Bian He rubbed his head against Wan Ying in comfort. "Don't be angry."
Those dog bastards would pay for what they had done.
Wan Ying looked at Bian He and rubbed his head.
"You're so well-behaved. How could I be angry?"
He liked it when Bian He looked up at him as though he were the whole world.
Those eyes were too beautiful, filled with nothing but him.
There were always people who came around him to provoke him maliciously.
They relied on his identity as a legal professional, knowing he would not openly kill anyone.
They just wanted to disgust him.
Since they wanted to disgust him, naturally they had to pay a price.
The other side had fearlessly teased him with their words, so out of courtesy, he returned the favor.
A few superficial injuries should not count for much.
They finished a simple meal.
Wan Ying picked up food for him, and Bian He opened his mouth and ate it.
Wan Ying's eyes brightened slightly as he discovered something amusing.
He tirelessly continued adding food to his bowl, enjoying the sight of him obediently eating it all.
If it were someone else, would he be this obedient too?
There was oil at the corner of Bian He's mouth, and Wan Ying took out a tissue to wipe it away.
"..."
Bian He's words pushed the image in his mind in an entirely different direction.
Wan Ying clenched his chopsticks, and with a crisp crack, they snapped.
Only one thought filled his mind.
The fallen chopsticks slid along the edge of the table and struck Bian He on the head.
Bian He wrinkled his nose and tilted his head slightly. The chopsticks fell into his mouth.
His eyes reddened with dissatisfaction.
He complained indistinctly, "Brother is bullying me..."
Wan Ying stared intently at his prey.
He really did want to bully him.
If he made a move now, Bian He definitely would not refuse.
But...
That would lead their future in a different direction from what he had planned. He had not intended to take on another burden.
Keeping someone and marking a partner were entirely different concepts.
He had not figured out how to balance the two.
He needed to endure a little longer, at least until he had investigated Puppy's identity.
If he marked him so easily and Bian He turned out to be a spy, could he really still kill him?
Too many thoughts tangled in his mind, making his head ache.
Of the six dishes on the table, they had eaten most of them, leaving little behind.
"Bian He, I'm tired."
Having received his order, Bian He stood up and picked up Wan Ying's coat, draping it over him.
Wan Ying accepted the care without the slightest guilt. Bian He smelled wonderful; he liked the scent of flowers.
He lowered his head onto Bian He's shoulder, and his headache grew worse.
"Let me sleep for a while."
The private room was expensive and had a resting area.
Bian He wrapped an arm around the man's waist. "Sleep without worry. I'll guard you the whole time."
As soon as the words fell.
The man fell asleep, soothed by the floral pheromones.
Whenever he had too much on his mind, his headaches acted up.
Bian He picked up the keys from the table and lifted the man into his arms.
The coat draped over him concealed the man's face.
His Director Wan was thin-skinned and would never accept outsiders seeing him like this.
Bian He opened the door and went downstairs.
He arrived at the cashier and swiped his card to settle the bill.
While the payment was being processed.
Several people came in from outside.
"Sister-in-law, why are you here?"
"Yeah, where's the boss? Why didn't our boss come with you?"
"You... who are you carrying? Did you betray the boss?"
"Hey, don't take this too far. Just because the boss dotes on you, how can you do something that betrays him..."
He Xiaowu, Little Eight, and several teammates had come here to eat.
It was far too much of a coincidence.
With his back to them, Bian He felt annoyed for a moment.
He pulled off the silver ring around his wrist.
The black faded from his pupils, returning them to pale blue.
The pheromones he had deliberately kept restrained overflowed, carrying a powerful oppressive force.
They instantly enveloped the first-floor hall.
He turned coldly to face them, his thin lips lifting slightly. "Who are you calling sister-in-law? Are you looking to die?"
His voice was low as ice, so cold it made them shudder all over.
He Xiaowu, who stood at the front, weakly withdrew his hand. "N-No... sorry, we mistook you for someone else."
"Sorry, we mistook you for someone else."
As they spoke, they all backed away, avoiding the range of his pheromones and automatically clearing a path.
Bian He gave a cold snort and left while carrying Wan Ying.
Even after leaving the restaurant, he could still hear their conversation inside.
What a coincidence.
Good thing he had not woken up.
