"Fine, fine. Since it belongs to a Celestial Dragon, I'll let you hold onto it for now. Once this is over, I'll personally take it back from you!"
The man shot Xia Zhiqing a murderous glare before sitting back down.
"Ah, young people are just too impulsive."
The people around them shook their heads in pity.
"Since no one else is bidding, announce the result," Xia Zhiqing said to the stunned auctioneer.
"Three hundred and twenty-five million. Sold!"
The auctioneer skipped the usual procedure and directly announced the Devil Fruit's new owner.
"After spending everything we had, we finally bought it. Now it's up to you."
Xia Zhiqing sighed as he looked at Anna.
"Don't worry. I definitely won't disappoint you!"
Anna took a deep breath and replied.
Xia Zhiqing had no interest in any of the items that followed.
And so, the auction came to an end.
"Kid, I'll be waiting outside. Enjoy the last few minutes of your life."
The man stood up, gave Xia Zhiqing a pitying look, and was the first to leave.
"The last few minutes? Heh, perhaps that's something you should be saying to yourself."
Xia Zhiqing curled his lips in disdain.
He was not even afraid of the Celestial Dragons themselves, let alone one of their lackeys.
After paying the required amount with his Beli card, Xia Zhiqing received his item.
"According to the complimentary copy of the Devil Fruit encyclopedia from the auction, this is undoubtedly the Mud Fruit!"
"If there are no questions, eat it. Your opportunity is about to begin!"
Holding the brown dragon fruit in his hand, Xia Zhiqing spoke to Anna.
Anna took it without the slightest hesitation and gently bit into it.
Her expression immediately became incredibly strange, but she still forced herself to swallow.
In an instant, the Mud Fruit she had been holding suddenly passed straight through her body, fell to the ground, and shattered into pieces.
Anna's body actually began to flow, turning into a puddle of mud.
Yet none of the foul stench Xia Zhiqing had expected appeared.
Instead, a faint fragrance filled the air.
"This... doesn't seem to be going according to the script."
Watching Anna slowly return to normal, he asked, "How do you feel?"
"I think you got scammed, my lord." Anna's first words startled Xia Zhiqing, but then she continued, "But it's actually a good thing!"
"What do you mean, scammed? And what do you mean, it's a good thing?"
Xia Zhiqing was a little confused.
"I say you got scammed because this isn't the Mud Fruit!" Anna's words immediately startled Xia Zhiqing.
He looked at Anna and asked, "Then... what did you mean by it being a good thing?"
Anna smiled. "This fruit should be called the Mud-Mud Fruit. The Mud Fruit mutated!"
"What's the difference?" Xia Zhiqing did not understand.
"The Mud Fruit allows its user to create mudflows like watery porridge, and they stink terribly!"
"But the Mud-Mud Fruit allows its user to create soil for attacks. Any kind of soil will do!"
With Anna's explanation, Xia Zhiqing finally understood the difference.
"Then it really is a good thing! So what if it mutated? The foul-smelling side effect is gone, and its range of abilities has expanded. That's great!"
Xia Muyang nodded. "Let's go. Next, get used to your fruit properly. I'll train you myself!"
"If you still want to keep using firearms, then keep them. If not, throw them away and devote yourself fully to developing your fruit abilities!"
Xia Zhiqing gave Anna two paths to choose from.
