Damian began hauling cargo at the docks at age seven after Marcus’s back worsened and ship-repair work became inconsistent. The labor built his strength and endurance, though Damian recognized that physical power alone was not swordsmanship. 18

When the Tomoe reacted to Marcus’s blood, Damian was the first sibling to sense the phenomenon. He later retained memories of a dark-clothed swordsman who fought with a short blade and used hand signs to create independently moving fireballs. 2 3
