Daisy raised an eyebrow. Roma? Merlin's daughter? She had never had any dealings with the woman.
"What did she say?"
Captain Britain thought back. "She said that if you wanted your children to be born safely, you needed to strengthen the universe's foundations. The current universe is not sufficient to give birth to three god-level infants."
After thinking it over again, he nodded with certainty. "Those were Lady Roma's exact words. I'm from this universe too, and I hope it gets better and better. Goodbye."
Captain Britain turned and left the Nova Corps base, leaving Daisy and Wanda staring at each other.
Three children? Wanda looked at her doubtfully, her gaze filled with contemplation and a probing look whose meaning was hard to discern.
Daisy: "...?!"
Captain Britain, get back here. You're trying to screw me over, aren't you? That had to be it! How insidious! Get back here and I definitely won't beat you to death!
Wanda tightly clasped her hands together, seeming a little unable to believe it. "You have another child?"
Director Daisy was covered in a fine sheen of sweat. These children had been tormenting her so much lately that she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
"This is a long story..."
Wanda looked perfectly composed, clearly saying, I'm listening.
Daisy could only repeat the explanation she had once given Hill, emphasizing responsibility, accountability, how pitiful Jean was, and so on. She described Jean as terribly pitiable. Of course, she herself was innocent too—she had merely used the wrong skill in the wrong place.
Daisy swore fervently, "Jean and I absolutely never crossed the boundaries of friendship. We're completely innocent! I swear on my father's name!"
Seeing how utterly weak and unconvincing her explanation was, she could only drag out the original Daisy's biological
