Rachel and Kara's hasty high-speed flight had drawn the military's attention. Several fighter jets were pursuing them fiercely from behind.
Ground radar identified them as being with the aliens invading Metropolis. What normal Earthling could fly? These two who could fly had to be aliens! There was basically nothing wrong with that logic, and as a result, air-raid sirens blared nonstop along the two girls' flight path.
Kara had always been a good girl. Even when lifting a plane, she acted like a thief, hiding herself and wishing she could cover her face. Today, she had flown out entirely to show off in front of her new friend, coupled with the girls' mutual unwillingness to lose. She had not thought things through at all when she took off. Now that the alarms on the ground started sounding, she was completely dumbfounded.
She still needed to hide her identity and live in the city. She still needed to work, bring coffee to her boss, and do her job as a reporter! What was she supposed to do now?
