Daisy circled around to Egghead's heels, gathering her power in her palm before striking at his ankle. At the same time, she shouted, "Heartbreak Palm!"
It wasn't because she was being childish. Shouting the name of a move in battle was actually pretty embarrassing, but she needed Old Pym to remember it, so she shouted it anyway.
In her perception, the "Heartbreak Palm" broke through the skin and subcutaneous fat, carrying vibrational force deeper and deeper into his body.
Cellular structures should have been compact and orderly, but that wasn't the case in Daisy's senses. Egghead's cells were chaotic and varied in size. Her vibration power was like another sense, and she "saw" countless cells rupture under some unknown force, only for new cells to be born under the catalysis of another unknown force.
The entire process was malformed and twisted, completely violating the laws of material growth.
Most crucially, these things appeared out of thin air. The Pym Particles seemed to be a bridge, continuously borrowing power from another world for Egghead's use.
"Get lost, insect!" Egghead only felt a numb tingling in his heel. Though the discomfort quickly faded, he was still furious and swatted at Daisy as if she were a mosquito.
Air resistance! She quickly discovered another weakness of gigantification: the air resistance was enormous. His movements looked painfully slow, like Ultraman running out of energy.
She stepped onto a nearby rock, leaped three meters into the air, and flipped onto the back of Egghead's hand.
Then she clenched both fists and slammed them down onto the back of his hand.
Thud! With a dull impact, her vibration power tore through the air once more. Her ability pierced his hand and ravaged everything in its path. Countless connections between cells were severed, while even more cells were pulverized.
The internal cellular damage manifested externally as a large bruise on the back of his hand. But because his nerves had already been severed, Egghead did not immediately realize that he had lost control over part of his limb.
He tried to lift his hand and fling Daisy away, only to discover that his left hand had gone completely numb.
It wasn't the tingling numbness of poor circulation, but some unknown form of tissue necrosis.
Daisy landed with a flip and continued circling around to strike his ankles!
After exchanging a few moves, she had basically figured out his characteristics. She had no idea how gigantification worked in theory, but destruction was always easier than creation, and vibration was exceptionally suited for destruction.
After two consecutive palm strikes to the same spot, the ten-meter-tall Egghead finally could not hold himself up any longer. With a face full of pain, he dropped to one knee.
Realizing that the little mosquito named Daisy was the one hurting him, he grabbed nearby boulders and trees and began wildly throwing and smashing them around.
Daisy circled him, appearing on his left one moment and his right the next, taking advantage of his slow movements.
Her mouth was not idle either. "Heartbreak Palm!" "Through-Arm Fist!" "Tiger-Crane Form Fist!"
Whatever the truth was, Old Pym had indeed been bluffed. Ordinary people knew that the East possessed mysterious martial arts, but as a former S.H.I.E.L.D. higher-up, he knew far more information than ordinary people did.
This little girl was amazing! As he watched Daisy circle Egghead more than a dozen times, relentlessly attacking him, cells throughout Egghead's body were damaged. He coughed up mouthful after mouthful of blood before finally crashing facedown onto the ground.
Daisy had not dealt a killing blow. On one hand, she did not want to leave a bad impression on the old Ant-Man. On the other, she wanted to keep the secret of her power hidden.
Unlike those giant insects, the insects bore traces of biochemical modification and were probably intended as weapons. The cells inside their bodies were a complete mess, making it impossible to identify traces of vibration damage.
Egghead was different. If she killed him now, an autopsy would reveal the damage she had inflicted. If she kept him alive, his self-healing ability through the Pym Particles would erase all traces after some time.
"Doctor, can this guy return to his normal size? S.H.I.E.L.D. may need some evidence..." Only after estimating that Egghead had recovered fifty to sixty percent did Daisy pull Old Pym over.
Old Pym observed Egghead's helmet for a while, then pressed the blue switch on its left side. Egghead's body rapidly shrank, soon returning to normal human size.
Daisy was somewhat speechless at the sight. A person could grow and shrink, but even the white lab coat on him could grow and shrink! What kind of bullshit was that? Was this a new branch of quantum physics—Marvel physics?
She checked the fabric and toughness of the lab coat. It was an utterly ordinary piece of clothing.
Seeing his opponent lying at his feet, Old Pym smiled smugly. Daisy shook her head and used the lab coat to tie Egghead up.
Five minutes after the battle ended, Black Widow and the others finally arrived, accompanied by a loud explosion from the laboratory building.
Black Widow had not lied when she said she was going after the remaining enemies. She had killed all ten-odd of Egghead's assistants.
They briefly recounted their respective experiences.
They had not seen the so-called "giant" with their own eyes and had underestimated the power of gigantification. In their view, if Daisy could take down a "giant" by herself, then they should be able to do the same.
In truth, it was not only the female agents. Even Old Pym had begun to doubt gigantification. Had his vision been too idealistic? This early version had been beaten down by a girl with a few punches and kicks. No matter how he looked at it, it did not seem all that impressive.
The uneven information made even its inventor question gigantification, and he decided to go back and study it some more.
Black Widow pressed her communicator. Before long, two Quinjets flew over. One would transport Egghead to a secret base, where dedicated interrogators would question him about matters such as the secret of enlarging with Pym Particles and where those well-equipped, highly trained soldiers had come from. Egghead would be spending a very long time in a S.H.I.E.L.D. prison.
Even with Hydra's help, they would not be able to get him out from under Nick Fury's nose anytime soon.
The female agents selectively forgot about the corpses of the giant bugs. The ground was covered in thick green goo, and the very thought of it was disgusting. If Nick Fury wanted to see it, he could send male agents to clean it up!
The other jet took them back to Washington. After completing a mission, agents would usually take a few days off according to custom.
On the way, Black Widow made a separate report on the mission. Afterward, Dr. Hank Pym also spoke privately with Nick Fury for a few moments.
After ending the call, he looked at Daisy with a strange expression. "You want to study quantum physics? Why do you want to learn that? From my observations over all these years, there really aren't many women interested in studying physics, and you're an agent besides..."
The old man worried that S.H.I.E.L.D. still coveted his Pym Particles. They had failed with hard methods before, so this time they were using soft ones. But since he had just been rescued, it would be a little too much to turn hostile immediately. So he wanted to ask Daisy what exactly she was thinking and how much she knew about quantum physics. If her foundation was too weak, he would have the perfect excuse to send her back to study the basics.
The remaining female agents were also curious about Daisy's "burning enthusiasm" for studying quantum physics. All of them wore expressions of anticipation, ready to hear what she had to say.
