"I'll help you find that Black man and bring him before you. After that, I'll go somewhere with you. I swear on my parents' names," Viper promised solemnly.
Daisy probed her frequency. The woman had been extensively trained and possessed a strong will. Her frequency was a blur, yielding no useful information. Still, she could not kill her. For now, this counted as making use of waste.
She snapped four iron chains in succession and lowered Viper to the ground.
Viper wanted to appear stronger, but she still fell flat on her face. It could not be helped—her legs were as limp as noodles, and she could not stand at all.
"Come find me when you have news. You know where I am. See you, gorgeous!" Daisy picked up her coat and pushed open the door to leave.
By the time Viper supported herself against the door and made it outside, Daisy was nowhere to be seen. She wanted to kick something to vent her anger, but her limbs were too weak. She could only curse viciously, get her bearings, and head for her secret safe house. Daisy's torment had given her a cold. At the very least, she needed to go back and take a few pills! And drink plenty of water!
In an empty spot, Daisy opened a portal and returned directly to Yashida Estate.
She had barely lain down when she heard wailing outside.
After going out to ask around, she learned that Old Man Yashida was dead.
Was he truly dead, or faking it? He had faked his death in the original story, but Viper had spent the whole night being tormented by Daisy, so everything was uncertain now. Maybe without Viper's help, the old man lacked some necessary means and simply croaked?
She scratched her
