Though such complicated man-woman and woman-woman relationships did not quite align with the values of a conservative old man, he could tell that there was nothing between Daisy and Jean. Cyclops was simply overthinking things.
Turning an ally into an enemy because of wild speculation was simply too foolish. Ever since arriving in Alaska, Professor Charles had been trying to counsel Cyclops.
He pondered a story today and thought up a fable tomorrow. To protect Cyclops's pride, he had to offer constant indirect advice. The old man was exhausted.
Still, the professor's guidance, combined with the icy wilderness and being far from crowds, gradually helped Cyclops adjust. He, too, felt that his suspicions had been utterly unfounded. Once he had settled the professor in, he planned to return to New York and apologize to Jean.
The day before leaving Alaska, Cyclops was in high spirits as he hunted in the distant woods. Without using his powers, his agile skills alone made him no worse than elite agents. Unfortunately, the villa's servants regularly drove away the larger animals, so he only caught two rabbits.
"Who's there? Stop!" He suddenly sensed someone watching him. He immediately turned around and readied himself to attack.
Instead, he found the man called Cable, whom he had met once at Xavier's School. The other man moved incredibly fast and ran the moment Cyclops turned his head.
Cyclops instinctively gave chase. Cable darted left and right, taking an extremely strange route. Cyclops silently cursed as things went wrong. By the time he stopped, he had not only lost Cable, but gotten himself lost as well.
He had ventured too deeply into
