Mr. Fantastic and Beast crouched off to one side, brainstorming as they prepared to devise some sort of machine to stop Black Queen from achieving apotheosis.
The plane entered Genosha's borders in stealth mode. Stealth mode was not truly reliable, especially given the endless variety of Mutant abilities. The plane landed near the border, and Hill contacted local S.H.I.E.L.D.-friendly operatives. With the locals' help, they infiltrated Genosha's capital, a small coastal city known as Warhammer Bay.
It had originally been nothing more than a northern beach in Madagascar. After decades of development by Magneto and his successors, it had become a paradise for Mutant extremists.
They followed the law of the jungle, forever dreaming of ruling the world and enslaving ordinary people.
The Brotherhood of Mutants had inevitably split apart. Newly awakened Mutants with superpowers constantly resented their lowly status and wanted to use their newfound powers to challenge the Brotherhood's rule. Survival of the fittest had certainly made Mutants highly formidable in battle, but the ruling class changed hands far too quickly.
So quickly that even Magneto could not suppress the conflict between the old guard and the newcomers.
The old guard believed they had shed blood for the Brotherhood.
