Qin Yu refined a Heavenly Demon Puppet, advanced his cultivation, and became entangled in the Demon Puppet Sect’s dealings with the Hall of Souls. He then traveled with Ziyan and Cao Ying to the Heavenly Formation Sect, where he secretly mastered its formations and entered its competition as a fragment of the Taiyi Yin-Yang Formation brought new possibilities.

• Xuan Kongzi invited Qin Yu to join the Pill Tower, and Qin Yu shared the incomplete Taiyi Yin-Yang Formation scroll for the Tower to investigate.
• Qin Yu developed a cultivation route for his five attributes, reached Seven-Star Dou Zong, and agreed to take the Demon Puppet Sect’s commission.
• Qin Yu taught Qian Xunji the Heavenly Demon Puppet Refining Method, refined a puppet from a captured Hall of Souls Protector, and gave the sect a copy of the method.
• Qin Yu and Ziyan rescued Feng Qing'er from Fei Tian, defeated their attackers, and spared Feng Qing'er to avoid provoking a conflict between their clans.
• Qin Yu broke through to Eight-Star Dou Zong, then handed Han Feng over to Xuan Kongzi and Xuan Yi, who questioned him before Venerable Feng arrived.
• Qin Yu unraveled the Heavenly Formation Sect’s entrance formation and secretly studied its formations while Cao Ying prepared to refine her pill.
• Ziyan found a third Taiyi Yin-Yang Formation fragment, and Qin Yu organized it with the other pieces while the sect prepared for its competition.
• At the competition’s opening soul-power test, Qin Yu noticed a hidden interference formation near the arena, and the first group of disciples produced few strong results.
