Background / History

Rudy grew up in Buena Village as Paul and Zenith Greyrat's son. He preferred academic pursuits and avoided Paul's swordsmanship practice, earning a reprimand for returning home late. 9

Paul hired Allen as Rudy's swordsmanship teacher. Rudy initially disliked Allen's fierce appearance and rebuffed his attempts at friendliness, but Allen's direct request to become friends gradually changed their relationship. 13 15 16 Their friendship was formally cemented after they befriended Sylphy together. 20

Roxy Migurdia was Rudy's first magic teacher. She eventually left the Greyrat household after teaching him all she could, regarding him as a gifted first disciple. 80

Under Allen's influence, Rudy developed his combat casting rather than relying solely on rank or raw mana. By the time Philip's entourage arrived in Buena Village, Rudy understood that refining output, spell form, and mixed magic mattered more than the label of a magician's rank. 83
