Background / History

Allen originated from Earth, where he grew up in Mount Ai Orphanage. As a child, he tried to improve fellow orphans Aiqiu and Aihao’s chances of adoption, revealing an early tendency to manage people and outcomes rather than leave them to chance 445.

He was reincarnated into the Six-Sided World through an abnormal System attached to his returning body. During the Great Transfer, the Earth-born Allen and the Allen native to this world—two bodies sharing one soul—merged into a single existence, explaining his sudden maturation and later physical changes 328.

Born into the Boreas succession system, Allen was raised publicly as James Boreas Greyrat’s son, while Philip was his biological father. His disappearance from the Boreas family was officially reported as occurring en route to Magic University; Allen had instead staged his own assassination to escape both sides of the family conflict 12 13.

At age nine, he arrived in Buena Village as a wandering adventurer. After Paul Greyrat learned the truth of Allen’s situation, he took him in and made him Rudeus’s swordsmanship teacher 10 13. Allen subsequently formed close bonds with Rudeus, Sylphy, Lokkishi, and the Greyrat household.

His time in Roa and Boreas Manor forced him to confront his origin directly. He exposed James’s role in the assassination plot to Sauros, earned the latter’s respect, and eventually accepted Hilda’s maternal affection by calling her “Mom” 111 206.

Following the Great Transfer, Allen’s appearance changed substantially as his two selves merged. He later revealed to Lokkishi that he was a Hero summoned from the future, becoming increasingly determined to oppose the Human God’s manipulation of fate 371.

Around companions, Allen is markedly gentler. Ariel observes that his sharpness disappears when dealing with those close to him; despite differences in power or status, he respects their choices rather than trying to control their lives 281. His attachment to family, especially the acceptance he receives from Hilda and the Greyrats, becomes the foundation of his resolve to seek a future where everyone survives 206 509.

His greatest personal insecurity concerns whether he truly belongs in the life of Allen Boreas Greyrat.
