Li Zhengyang pushed the door open and went inside, then tossed the Demon-Human's Demonic Core in front of Lei Qianjue.
"Thunder Venerable, what exactly is this?"
Lei Qianjue stood by the window and turned around.
His gaze fell on the Demonic Core, and his previously calm expression froze at once.
"Did you kill it in the C7 Zone?" Lei Qianjue asked.
"Yeah. Half human, half beast, and intelligent."
Li Zhengyang pulled out a chair and sat down. "That thing called itself the Blood Demon Clan. What is that supposed to be?"
Lei Qianjue placed the Demonic Core on a Detection Instrument.
The screen lit up, and a string of data rapidly flickered across it.
"Demon-Human."
The two words slipped out.
He pressed a button on the desk, and a Holographic Projection unfolded in midair.
The image showed a wasteland. At its center, a large number of Demon-Humans were building an altar out of white bones.
"Low-rank Demonic Beasts beyond the walls kill by instinct, while high-rank Demonic Beasts claim territory and rule as kings. Neither is the most troublesome."
Lei Qianjue pointed at the projection. "The most troublesome are the Demon-Humans."
"They have a complete tribal structure and extremely high intelligence."
"They don't kill to feed themselves. They hunt Human Race Martial Warriors, plunder their Blood Qi, occupy our Defense Lines, and slowly devour Great Xia's territory."
Lei Qianjue looked at Li Zhengyang. "No one knows where they came from. Some say they're aliens; others say they're mutated forms of high-rank Martial Warriors who were corrupted by demonic energy a century ago."
After listening, Li Zhengyang looked at the Demonic Core on the table.
"How much is this thing worth?" he asked.
