Background / History
The first recorded encounter occurs in C7 Zone, where Li Zhengyang kills a Sixth-Rank Peak individual bearing both Demonic Beast aura and Human Race Blood Qi. The creature identifies itself as “Both” when asked whether it is human or beast, and claims membership in the Blood Demon Clan. Its recovered core is grayish-white, smaller than a normal Beast Core, and marked with blood-vein patterns 62.
Demon-Humans are considered more dangerous than ordinary Demonic Beasts because they possess intelligence, speech, organized forces, and complete tribal structures. Unlike low-rank Demonic Beasts driven by instinct or high-rank beasts that defend territory, they deliberately hunt human Martial Warriors, strip their Blood Qi, seize Defense Lines, and expand into Great Xia territory 63.
Their origin is unknown. Proposed explanations include extraterrestrial origin or the mutation of high-rank Martial Warriors eroded by demonic energy a century earlier 63.
Appearance
Demon-Humans generally possess humanoid frames altered by Demonic Beast traits. Their exact appearance varies heavily by clan and rank.
- Often taller and physically larger than humans, with some commanders reaching nearly ten meters in height 62 147
- Vertical pupils, sharp teeth, black claws, and long hardened nails 62
- Bony spikes or horns growing from the back, limbs, or head 62 98 104
- Keratinous growths around joints and scale-like facial patterns 62
- Black blood, sometimes mixed with dark-red human blood 62
- Many possess natural or materialized Bone Armor 65 98 104
- Certain lineages display distinctive traits, such as wings, red scales, bone horns, or blood-red armor 141 176 195
Biology and Abilities
Hybrid Physiology
Demon-Humans combine the physical resilience of Demonic Beasts with the combat awareness and mobility associated with human Martial Warriors.
- Can possess Demonic Beast-level aura alongside detectable Human Race Blood Qi 62
- Fight with deliberate angles, defensive stances, ambushes, formations, and coordinated orders rather than animal instinct 62 64 65
- Their claws and nails can be harder than the shells of Darkrock Beasts 62
- Their Bone Armor and hardened bodies can withstand standard human weapons, though specialized lightning weapons and armor-piercing traits are effective counters 97 101
Regeneration
Many Demon-Humans can rapidly regenerate severe injuries, making prolonged combat dangerous.
- A Blood Demon Clan individual regenerated pierced flesh and even a destroyed section of spine at a visible speed 62
- Destroying the brain stopped that individual’s regeneration and killed it 62
- The Abyssfall Dragon Spear’s Dragon Soul Bone-Erosion can drastically reduce or halt regeneration in wounds it inflicts 65 76 101
Blood Qi Exploitation
Demon-Humans use human Blood Qi as a resource for cultivation, rituals, and territorial expansion.
- They hunt human Martial Warriors to strip away Blood Qi 63
- The Blood Demon Clan refines the Blood Qi of sacrificed Martial Warriors into Blood-Soul Pearls 66 67
- Blood Nether absorbs dead humans’ Blood Qi to overcome a Martial Venerable barrier 75
- The Wind-Thunder Demonfolk’s High Priest sacrifices thousands of its own clansmen’s Blood Qi to power a formation 199
Formations and Bloodline Techniques
Demon-Human groups employ clan-specific formations, rituals, and bloodline-based defenses.
- The Blood-Wing Army Formation suppresses an opponent’s Blood Qi 205
- The Wind-Thunder Formation combines wind and lightning attacks 196
- The Bloodline Lock recognizes Demon Race bloodlines and rebounds non-Demon Race Blood Qi or spiritual power with extreme force 146
- The Red Bone Royal Court’s Bloodbone Demon Prison uses battlefield remains and blood-bone constructs to imprison and corrode a target 178
- Demon-Human formations commonly use flesh, blood, and Demonic Cores as nodes 201
Demonic Core
A Demon-Human’s chest contains a recoverable Demonic Core.
- Demon-Human cores can be distinct from ordinary Beast Cores; the first recovered sample was grayish-white and covered in blood-vein patterns 62
- Demonic Cores are routinely collected as valuable spoils after Demon-Human battles 65 88 101
- High-ranking Demon-Humans can possess cores corresponding to Martial Venerable, Overlord-Class, or Ninth-Rank levels 92 103 201
Society and Hierarchy
Demon-Humans operate through clans, tribal forces, royal courts, and military-style chains of command.
