Ch. 341Misunderstanding

Sephiroth offered Ain two Famous Blades in exchange for using her Rewind Fruit ability to restore ancient books, but she mistakenly thought he was proposing a romantic relationship. After Domino interrupted and Sephiroth clarified the arrangement, Ain realized her misunderstanding and agreed to help.

  • Sephiroth explained that Ain needed Armament Haki and a better sword to hurt him, then offered her two Meito for a price.
  • Ain thought Sephiroth wanted her to date him and shyly agreed before Domino arrived.
  • Sephiroth told Domino and Ain that he wanted Ain to restore ancient books with her Rewind Fruit ability.
  • Ain realized she had misunderstood Sephiroth, and he arranged to visit her dormitory the next day and give her two Famous Blades after the work was done.

Ch. 342Dinner

Sephiroth brought Domino to his villa on Sabaody Archipelago and cooked her seafood fried noodles. Domino secretly drugged the wine to seduce him, but drank the spiked glass herself after Sephiroth noticed something was wrong, leaving her intoxicated while he tried to calm her down with food.

  • Sephiroth and Domino arrived at the villa on Sabaody Archipelago using his spatial ability.
  • Sephiroth prepared seafood fried noodles while Domino secretly poured an entire bottle of Aphrodite's Temptation into the red wine.
  • Sephiroth noticed the wine smelled strange and declined to drink it, so Domino drank her glass herself.
  • The drug took effect, and Domino pressed against Sephiroth and asked whether he wanted her.
  • Sephiroth told Domino to eat something to calm down and put a sea cucumber in her mouth with his chopsticks.

Ch. 343Still Just a Tiny Bit...

Domino woke beside Sephiroth, and he reassured her that he cared for her and wanted her in his life. Later, Sephiroth asked Ain to restore ancient lunar records, but after she finished a small batch, he revealed that more than a hundred thousand remained and paid her in advance with the cursed blade Killing Intent.

  • Domino recalled how the spiked wine and Aphrodite Potion had led her to throw herself at Sephiroth, and she felt ashamed.
  • Sephiroth comforted Domino, told her he liked her and would not let her go, and she kissed his cheek.
  • Sephiroth visited Ain at Marineford Military Academy and brought her a cabinet of ancient books and documents to restore with her Rewind Fruit ability.
  • Ain repeatedly rewound the documents until she had restored roughly one or two hundred of them, exhausting herself.
  • Sephiroth revealed that more than a hundred thousand documents still needed restoration and gave Ain the cursed blade Killing Intent as half payment.

Ch. 344Do You Have a Problem with That?

Sephiroth asked Zephyr to switch classes so he could lead Class One and have Ain help restore ancient books, but Zephyr refused after suspecting his motives. During the voyage to Hannibal, Zephyr misunderstood their work and burst into the cabin, where Sephiroth teased him about it.

  • Sephiroth asked Zephyr to let him lead Class One, and Zephyr refused because he suspected Sephiroth was pursuing Ain and feared damage to the Military Academy's reputation.
  • Zephyr confirmed that he planned to use the students to ambush pirates at the Underground Death Sailing Race in Hannibal.
  • Sephiroth visited Class One's warship during the voyage and had Ain use her Rewind Ability to restore ancient books in exchange for two Famous Blades.
  • Zephyr heard Ain's pleas and Sephiroth's teasing through the cabin door, then burst in and found them fully dressed with bookshelves nearby.
  • Ain explained that she was restoring the books, while Sephiroth jokingly claimed he had been forcing her to do illicit things.

Ch. 345Bounty

Miss Bakin and Weevil entered the Death Sailing Race on Hannibal Island after learning about its prize money and a special bounty. Meanwhile, Sephiroth and the other Marine instructors sailed toward the island, where they prepared to confront the dangerous pirates competing in the race.

  • Miss Bakin took Weevil to an underground bar on Hannibal Island to enter the Death Sailing Race.
  • Miss Bakin learned that the race offered 500 million Belly in prize money and that pirates with bounties above 80 million could pursue an additional 2 billion Beli bounty.
  • Marine instructors reviewed intelligence about dangerous race participants, including Edward Weevil, as their warships headed for Hannibal Island.
  • Sephiroth questioned why the Military Academy students had to face such dangerous pirates, and Zephyr rebuked him for boasting about his own training.

Ch. 346Ambush

Sephiroth intervened in the battle after spotting an ambush against Zephyr’s warship and wiped out the pirates attacking his students. The chapter revealed that Beck had organized the concealed attack to kill Zephyr, though Sephiroth’s intervention disrupted the plan.

  • Sephiroth’s warship engaged a pirate ship in the storm, and he deflected sniper fire before killing the sniper with a long-range slash.
  • Sephiroth sensed a ship ram Zephyr’s warship and decided to help him despite their strained relationship.
  • Sephiroth killed more than seventy pirates attacking his students, then promised to report their merit before stepping through a Spatial Gate.
  • Beck explained that he wanted revenge on Zephyr and had planned to exploit his asthma with a virus and a coordinated pirate ambush.
  • Beck ordered Cooley to keep their ship invisible and assigned Strongman Banks and Edward Weevil to draw Zephyr’s attention as the ship rammed the warship.

Ch. 347Mutation

Zephyr tried to defend Class One’s warship from a coalition of pirates, but Banks, Edward Weevil, Kuri, and Beck overwhelmed him while Beck’s virus triggered his asthma. The chapter left Zephyr badly weakened, with his right forearm severed and the students losing hope as Beck revealed his revenge plot.

  • Zephyr ordered Class Six to support Classes Three and Eight, then rushed onto the deck after a pirate ship appeared beside Class One’s warship.
  • Zephyr intercepted Edward Weevil to protect Binz, knocked the invisible Kuri overboard, and fought Banks, Weevil, and Beck as pirates killed the academy students.
  • Beck threw smoke grenades at Zephyr, and their virus triggered Zephyr’s asthma, weakening his Haki and leaving him vulnerable to Banks’s punch.
  • Edward Weevil severed Zephyr’s right forearm, and Beck revealed that he had caused Zephyr’s asthma attack to avenge his older brother and wife.
  • Zephyr stopped the bleeding and tried to use Armament Haki to erase the virus, but his condition deteriorated further.

Ch. 348You Really Are Old!

Sephiroth rescued Zephyr and the surviving Class One students from an elite pirate attack, killing Beck and defeating Banks while Weevil and Miss Bakkin escaped. The disaster killed thirty-eight students and crippled nineteen, leading Sengoku to demote Zephyr, replace him with Simon Amanen, and promote Aokiji to Admiral.

  • Sephiroth arrived aboard Zephyr's warship and killed Beck with a single slash as Beck ordered the pirates to retreat.
  • Miss Bakkin jumped into the sea, Weevil blocked Sephiroth's attack and escaped into the water, and the remaining pirates fled.
  • Sephiroth dodged Banks's punches and struck him with a Conqueror's Haki shockwave, sending him into the sea.
  • Sephiroth surgically reattached Zephyr's severed arm, but the assessment's casualties led Zephyr to submit his resignation.
  • Sengoku demoted Zephyr and removed him as chief instructor but rejected his resignation, then appointed Simon Amanen, who replaced practical combat assessments with trainee assignments.
  • Sengoku promoted Aokiji to Marine Admiral, joining Akainu and Kizaru as the Marines' three Admirals.

Ch. 349Resignation

Sephiroth resigned from the Marines to pursue the freedom to wage war against Kaido for his father's death, then advised Ain to join Zephyr's Pirate Guerrilla Force. Before leaving Marineford, he gave her the blade Thunderclap, and Ain kissed him on the cheek but could not say what she truly wanted to tell him.

  • Sengoku approved Sephiroth's resignation after failing to persuade him to stay, and Sephiroth left him with a pointed remark about Flexible Justice.
  • After Ain graduated, Sephiroth told her he had resigned because Marine rules prevented him from taking the initiative against Kaido, the pirate whose crew had killed his father.
  • Sephiroth advised Ain to join Zephyr's Pirate Guerrilla Force, and she agreed to apply.
  • At the beach, Sephiroth gave Ain the blade Thunderclap, which she tested by blasting a distant cliff with a lightning-wrapped slash.
  • As Sephiroth prepared to leave through a Spatial Gate, Ain kissed his cheek and ran off without confessing what she had meant to say.

Ch. 350Five Elders

The Five Elders discussed Umbrella Corporation’s growing economic power and its ties to Whitebeard, then devised a legal plan to curb the company. They intended to propose a law that would force Umbrella to sever its ties with Whitebeard or face the World Government’s retaliation.

  • Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro reported that Umbrella Corporation controlled an estimated twenty-two percent of the world’s circulating Belly and that its influence continued to grow.
  • The Five Elders questioned how Gild Tesoro had built the company so quickly and why the Underground World’s leaders had allowed it to expand.
  • Saint Jaygarcia Saturn said the Five Elders needed to find a way to curb Umbrella Corporation or bring it under their control without provoking the nations tied to it.
  • Saint Topman Warcury proposed a law against corporations accepting protection from pirate forces, which would force Umbrella Corporation to choose between breaking with Whitebeard or becoming an enemy of the World Government.
  • The Five Elders planned to present the law to the Council of Fifty Kings during the Reverie and push it through after the required ten-day public notice.

Ch. 351Countermeasures

Sephiroth learned that the Five Elders had introduced a law to pressure Umbrella Corporation into choosing between the World Government and Whitebeard. He devised a plan to make the Elders believe they had achieved their goal and called Baccarat to issue an announcement, but the chapter ended before he revealed its contents.

  • Sephiroth read reports about the new law and Doflamingo's victory over Wang Zhi while relaxing with Perona.
  • Gild Tesoro told Sephiroth that the Five Elders' law would take effect in ten days and was intended to suppress Umbrella Corporation.
  • Sephiroth considered the risks of fighting the World Government or provoking Whitebeard and realized he could deceive the Five Elders into thinking their objective had been achieved.
  • Sephiroth called Baccarat and told her to issue a company announcement and publish it in the World Economy News Paper.

Ch. 352Someone Poached My People?

Sephiroth learned that his retirement and Umbrella Corporation appointment had made him a public figure, while Uta prepared her first self-written album and Yamato proved she could use Conqueror’s Haki Infusion. Yamato announced that she planned to set sail with Kozuki Hiyori, Kuina, Isca, and Perona, and Sephiroth agreed after telling them to bring a Vampire Bat.

  • Sephiroth read that Umbrella Corporation had hired him as a security consultant after his retirement from the Marines, and he worried that the news would draw the World Government’s attention.
  • Sephiroth praised Uta’s new song, “New Era,” and suggested that she make music videos for her album; Uta agreed to learn dancing.
  • Yamato demonstrated that she had learned to infuse her attacks with Conqueror’s Haki and asked Sephiroth if she could go adventuring at sea.
  • Yamato revealed that Kozuki Hiyori, Kuina, Isca, and Perona had already agreed to join her crew, surprising Sephiroth.
  • Sephiroth agreed to help Yamato set sail after another month or two and told her to take a Vampire Bat in case the crew ran into trouble.

Ch. 353Fish-Man Migration

Queen Otohime led more than sixty thousand fish-men and merfolk through a Spatial Gate to begin their relocation to Sky Island, where Sephiroth arranged their settlement. After learning that Golden Lion Shiki had attacked an Umbrella Corporation merchant ship, Sephiroth ordered a search for Shiki and his floating headquarters.

  • Otohime and Baccarat prepared the first group of immigrants, and Sephiroth opened a Spatial Gate to Upper Yard Island, where the fish-men and merfolk began settling in.
  • Sephiroth offered Shyarly a new fish-man café, and she asked to live independently; he agreed on the condition that she occasionally spend time with the other women.
  • Tesoro reported that Golden Lion Shiki had robbed an Umbrella Corporation merchant ship and killed its escorts.
  • Sephiroth recognized Shiki from the report and ordered Tesoro to search the skies between Water 7 and the Sabaody Archipelago for his fleet.
  • Sephiroth also told Tesoro to seek an Eternal Pose for Merveille, Shiki's former headquarters, and Tesoro agreed to begin the search.

Ch. 354Visit

Sephiroth visited Foodvalten Island and explained to Whitebeard that he had left the Marines to join Umbrella Corporation. He told Whitebeard he had come to settle things with him on the corporation’s behalf.

  • Whitebeard drank heavily at The Big Barrel while Marco warned him that his health was worsening.
  • Sephiroth entered the bar, prompting Whitebeard’s commanders to rise and watch him warily.
  • Sephiroth showed Whitebeard a newspaper report confirming his new position as Umbrella Corporation’s security consultant.
  • Sephiroth solemnly told Whitebeard he had come to settle things with him on behalf of Umbrella Corporation.

Ch. 355Settling Scores

Sephiroth went to Foodvalten Island to end Umbrella Corporation’s partnership with the Whitebeard Pirates, and proved his strength by clashing with Whitebeard. After negotiating a payment, the two sides ended their business ties.

  • Sephiroth told Whitebeard that Umbrella Corporation had to terminate its partnership because of new World Government laws, but Whitebeard refused to negotiate with him at first.
  • Whitebeard attacked Sephiroth, and the two clashed with their blades and Conqueror’s Haki, wrecking the bar and splitting the sky.
  • Whitebeard accepted Sephiroth as a legitimate negotiator and demanded fifty billion Belly to end the partnership.
  • Sephiroth agreed immediately, opened five iron boxes of cash, and offered Whitebeard a total of five hundred billion Belly.
  • Whitebeard declared that Umbrella Corporation and the Whitebeard Pirates would have nothing more to do with each other.

Ch. 356Golden Lion

Yamato set sail from Sky Island with Perona, Isca, Kuina, and Kozuki Hiyori while Sephiroth learned that Golden Lion Shiki’s headquarters had been located. Shiki planned to unleash IQ-enhanced beasts on the East Blue, but a black figure raced toward his floating island.

  • Sephiroth opened a Spatial Gate so Yamato and her crew could sail from Sky Island to the Blue Sea, and he promised Shirahoshi he would tell her stories.
  • Gild Tesoro informed Sephiroth that Golden Lion Shiki’s headquarters lay between the Florian Triangle and the Sabaody Archipelago.
  • Golden Lion Shiki recalled his past defeats, his escape from Impel Down, and his declining strength after the ship’s wheel damaged his head.
  • Shiki planned to use Dr. Indigo’s IQ Drug to breed powerful beasts and destroy the East Blue.
  • A black figure tore through the sky toward Shiki’s floating island.

Ch. 357Secret Sword: Swallow Reversal

Sephiroth tracked Golden Lion Shiki to Merveille Island and attacked him, destroying the central palace and the laboratory for the IQ Drug. He redirected Shiki’s seawater attack with his new Secret Sword: Swallow Reversal, defeated him, and took him away as the floating islands began to fall.

  • Sephiroth followed an Umbrella Corporation employee’s Vivre Card to Merveille Island and found Golden Lion Shiki in his palace.
  • Sephiroth attacked Shiki, then unleashed a massive flaming slash that split the palace and destroyed Dr. Indigo’s laboratory for the IQ Drug.
  • Shiki retaliated by turning seawater into a giant lion and sending it at Sephiroth.
  • Sephiroth used Secret Sword: Swallow Reversal to send the water lion through a Spatial Gate and redirect it into Shiki, submerging him and weakening his Devil Fruit power.
  • Sephiroth severed Shiki’s limbs with Haki-infused sword slashes, restrained him with a Sea Stone nail, and carried him away through a Spatial Gate as Merveille’s islands began to fall.

Ch. 358Float-Float Fruit

Sephiroth extracted Golden Lion Shiki’s Lineage Factor and recreated the Float-Float Fruit, then planned to use its power to make Umbrella Corporation’s territory mobile. He ordered Gild Tesoro to conceal the company’s New World operations and had Jim fuse the Float-Float Fruit with a bracelet.

  • Sephiroth used blood control to learn how Golden Lion Shiki had developed the Float-Float Fruit, then extracted its power and created a new Devil Fruit.
  • Sephiroth ate the blood mass and used Blood Recall to study Shiki’s experience, deciding the Float-Float Fruit could make his islands mobile and help Umbrella Corporation evade its enemies.
  • Gild Tesoro warned Sephiroth that Underground World figures were targeting the company after its partnership with the Whitebeard Pirates ended.
  • Sephiroth ordered Gild Tesoro to withdraw Umbrella Corporation’s public-facing New World businesses while secretly transferring operations to Du Feld, Dorag Pierrot, Giberson, and Umit.
  • Sephiroth instructed Gild Tesoro to keep the company low-profile and hide its assets through subsidiaries until world turmoil distracted the World Government.
  • Jim fused the Float-Float Fruit with a silver bracelet and handed the finished item to Sephiroth.

Ch. 359Migration

Sephiroth learned that Umbrella Corporation’s weather-control instrument was progressing and rejected Vinsmoke Judge’s bid to join the company’s leadership, offering private military and financial cooperation instead. He then used the Float-Float Fruit to lift all of Vaflorode into the sky, where World Government ships spotted the island and alerted the Five Elders.

  • Lim told Sephiroth that research on the Breath of the Gods had yielded little, but a weather-altering instrument was expected to be ready in two or three years.
  • Gild Tesoro informed Sephiroth that Vinsmoke Judge wanted the Germa Kingdom to join Umbrella Corporation and wanted a seat in its upper management.
  • Sephiroth refused to let Germa join or give Judge an executive position, but offered paid support for Germa’s conquests in exchange for half of the resources taken.
  • Sephiroth ordered Gild Tesoro to demonstrate Umbrella Corporation’s secret weapons to Judge without revealing cloning or Lineage Factor technology.
  • Sephiroth used the Float-Float Fruit to raise all of Vaflorode about one thousand meters above the sea.
  • World Government ships witnessed Vaflorode rising and urgently reported it to the Five Elders in Mariejois.

Ch. 360The Five Elders' Response

The Five Elders discussed Umbrella Corporation’s decline after the World Government’s new laws, then learned that Vaflorode had risen into the sky. Suspecting Golden Lion Shiki had taken the Ancient Weapon Breath of the Gods, they ordered Vegapunk to prioritize developing Mother Flame.

  • Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro estimated that the World Government’s legal pressure had reduced Umbrella Corporation’s share of the world’s Belly from twenty-eight percent to about twelve percent, and rejected calls to intensify the crackdown.
  • Katonah reported to Saint Jaygarcia Saturn that Vaflorode and the surrounding seawater had inexplicably floated into the air.
  • The Five Elders suspected Golden Lion Shiki had caused the phenomenon with the Float-Float Fruit and might be targeting Breath of the Gods.
  • Saint Jaygarcia Saturn proposed using Mother Flame to counter Shiki, and Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro offered five times the research funding if Vegapunk focused exclusively on developing it.
  • Saint Jaygarcia Saturn said Vegapunk would be warned that they were tools of the World Government.
