Bang!
Aegislash, already in Attack Forme, struck Mega Gengar directly with a single slash, sending Mega Gengar flying.
Mega Gengar had not lost its ability to battle after taking that attack.
But clearly, Mega Gengar did not have much stamina left.
Seeing this, Lu Ze did not hesitate. He took out a Poké Ball and recalled his Mega Gengar.
He then sent out his second Pokémon.
"Go, Crawdaunt!"
Lu Ze's second Pokémon was Crawdaunt.
Dark-type Pokémon heavily countered Ghost-type Pokémon like Aegislash.
Aegislash's Steel and Ghost typing gave it immunity to three types, resistance to eight types, and quadruple resistance to one type.
Its only weaknesses were Ground, Ghost, Fire, and Dark types.
Besides that, Crawdaunt's other same-type attribute was Water-type.
Although Water-type attacks did not counter Steel- and Ghost-type Aegislash, they were not resisted either.
So Crawdaunt was still a very good matchup against Aegislash.
On the field, Crawdaunt immediately attacked Aegislash after entering the battle.
After using [Aqua Jet] to close in on Aegislash, it swung its pincers directly down at it.
[Night Slash]!
Unfortunately, Aegislash was holding a Z-Crystal. Otherwise, it could have used [Knock Off].
[Knock Off] dealt very good damage when the opponent was holding an item.
Still, [Night Slash] was not bad either.
It was just a pity that the strike did not hit a vital spot and score a critical hit.
Moreover, the attack landed on Aegislash in Defense Forme, or rather, Shield Forme.
Aegislash's Shield Forme had extremely high defenses. Although [Night Slash] was super effective, it did not deal much damage to Aegislash.
Then again, Pokémon capable of changing Formes were very powerful offensively and defensively in their respective Formes.
Just like Deoxys.
Deoxys in Attack Forme dealt terrifying damage, while Deoxys in Defense Forme possessed tremendous defenses.
