The next second, she was hovering above Detroit. Fierce winds howled, tangling her hair. She closed her eyes and drew a deep breath, as though listening to the entire city's mournful cries. A moment later, her eyes snapped open, blazing with emerald-green light, as brilliant and dangerous as newly formed jade. As she slowly raised her arms, an invisible pressure enveloped the shattered city.
Detroit's skyline was forcibly torn apart at that moment.
One hundred thirty-eight thousand five hundred sixty-two steel beasts vanished into thin air amid a teeth-grating electronic hum. The next second, they hurtled skyward like a torrential downpour, hanging in midair, twisting and colliding. Yet they seemed trapped in invisible amber, unable to escape their tiny confines no matter how hard they struggled. Then this eerie forest of steel disappeared again, reappearing in the blink of an eye above a distant plain on the outskirts.
