A pirate, indeed.

Lin Ye looked at the laughing Kaido, then shook his head.

"If you want me to be vice-captain, you'll have to defeat me first!"

"Kid, I gave you a chance!"

Hearing Lin Ye say that, Kaido knew he had refused. His expression immediately darkened, and his voice became thick with killing intent.

"Do you always talk this much nonsense?"

Lin Ye gripped the hilt at his waist and drew the Black Blade, while tossing his other sword, Welcoming Snow, aside.

Looking at the blade that was like a toothpick to him, Kaido's eyes flashed with savagery as Conqueror's Haki erupted from his body.

An enormous amount of Conqueror's Haki crushed toward Lin Ye.

Conqueror's Haki erupted from Lin Ye as well, not the slightest bit weaker than Kaido's.

The Conqueror's Haki surrounding the two men became visible to the naked eye, like two black Shockwaves pressing against each other.

The collision of their Conqueror's Haki made both sides, who had just entered combat, collapse unconscious onto the ground.

The thick thunderclouds Kaido had drawn in were torn apart by the clash of Conqueror's Haki. Moonlight shone through the broken clouds and fell upon the battlefield.

Kaido gritted his teeth and desperately pressed down on the spiked club in his hands, only to find it being lifted bit by bit.

A black slash shot into the heavens.

Kaido's enormous body was sent flying, and the edge of the slash cut across his chest, splashing a trail of blood.

The slash soaring into the sky exploded overhead. In an instant, the entire world seemed to turn dark purple.
