Ch. 261Lady Zou Vanished, Mengde Seethed

- Ye Zhuo completes the quest involving Bu Lianshi and receives the complete Treatise of Great Peace. He then accepts a new quest to take Lady Zou away from Wan City, supposedly to spare Cao Cao a dangerous distraction.
- Bu Lianshi chooses the path of cultivation and leaves for the Celestial Palace. Sun Quan only realizes his feelings after seeing her portrait; learning Ye Zhuo has taken her away leaves him so distraught that he faints.
- More than a month later, Ye Zhuo visits Wan City and offers Lady Zou a choice between remaining mortal and coming with him to live among immortals. She accepts, and her entire courtyard rises into the sky.
- Zhang Xiu witnesses his aunt’s departure and realizes that divine beings, not just human rivals like Cao Cao, can take someone from him.
- Ye Zhuo receives the Seven Nail-Headed Arrows and its complete manual, a potent weapon based on causality, then sets off to tour other eras and worlds. His next quest directs him to spend ten years in the mortal world before visiting the time of Wang Mang’s usurpation of the Han.
- In Xuchang, Cao Cao learns that Lady Zou has ascended to immortality. Having hoped to visit her after his victories, he is left furious and incredulous that Ye Zhuo has once again taken a woman he desired.
Character developments and interactions
- Ye Zhuo remains casual and self-interested: he treats quests as opportunities to collect powerful rewards, enjoys mortal food despite being immortal, and escorts Lady Zou away partly to keep Cao Cao safe.
- Bu Lianshi commits to cultivation over an ordinary life. Sun Quan discovers his attachment too late, turning his unrecognized interest into comic heartbreak.
- Lady Zou begins anxious about her fate under Cao Cao, but accepts Ye Zhuo’s offer as an escape from a dangerous mortal world. On arrival, seeing the many beautiful immortal maidens, she assumes she will be a servant rather than a favored guest.
- Zhang Xiu is startled by his aunt’s supernatural departure; Cao Cao reacts with bitter frustration at Ye Zhuo’s repeated interventions.
