With meat in one hand and wine in the other, Mu Chen quietly watched Bullet and Crocodile, infuriating them both.

"What did you just say?"

Bullet and Crocodile turned in unison and fixed Mu Chen with furious stares.

Mu Chen acted as though he hadn't noticed. He took a sip of wine and continued talking.

"To become the Pirate King, you need more than strength. You also need reliable, powerful crewmates. Take Pirate King Roger's crew—which of them wasn't one in ten thousand?"

"At the very least, you'd need a crew like the Beasts Pirates, the Whitebeard Pirates, or the Big Mom Pirates, right?"

"Crocodile, let me ask you this: are you strong enough, or do you have powerful crewmates?"

Mu Chen's question left Crocodile feeling rather awkward. Of course he knew Mu Chen was right, but he wasn't about to admit defeat. They're just crewmates. It's not like I can't find any. And my strength will surpass theirs sooner or later.

Seeing the stubborn look on Crocodile's face, Mu Chen continued, "That takes time, doesn't it? Let's leave me out of the equation. I'll give you ten years to get stronger and find crewmates—or five, if you're lucky. But would that be everything?" "What else would there be?"

As far as Crocodile knew, he only needed to improve his strength and find powerful crewmates. What else could there be?

"That's why I call you naive. Do you know where the final island, Laugh Tale, is?"

"Do you know how to find the road markers?"

"Think about how powerful Kaido of the Beasts and the others are."

"Why haven't they become the next Pirate King?"

"They don't even know how to get to Laugh Tale."
