Patients
Administration Building.
Fourth floor.
Zhang Ze walked out of the last office and looked straight at the locked door of Room Thirteen on his left. The door of this ward was made of cast iron and could not be broken by ordinary brute force.
But Zhang Ze was no ordinary person.
Zhang Ze's body turned into a pool of Black Water, which seeped through the rusty iron door and into Room Thirteen.
Inside the room, Zhang Ze first saw two restraint beds, specifically designed to bind people to the beds, with corresponding ropes securing their hands, legs, neck, and all other vulnerable areas.
The ceiling features four medical-grade sterilizing incandescent lamps at different angles. If activated simultaneously, every corner of the room will be clearly visible, making it easier to perform delicate surgeries.
Zhang Ze reached out and touched the hospital bed, wiping away the dust to reveal bloodstains that had dried for many years.
"This isn't the treatment volunteers should receive."
How much suffering has been born in this room?
Standing amidst the ruins, Zhang Ze could faintly hear desperate cries.
The proper procedure requires anesthesia before the baby can be taken to the operating table.
But will Professor Yang really use anesthesia?
Whether those patients who received treatment were successfully cured, or simply rendered insane by the electricity and became afraid of it, the answer seems to be beyond doubt.
The only problem is...
Zhang Ze was unable to find Professor Yang.
"Little Door, Xiaolin, ask Feng Xiaomin where Professor Yang is most likely to be if he's not in Room Thirteen?"
"Have no idea."
"Have no idea?"
"Yes, she was just the one who got electrocuted on the operating table; she had no idea about the abuser's usual routine."
Zhang Ze frowned slightly.
"Perhaps that Professor Yang is long dead," Little Door said. "Several years have passed since the Second Ward was abandoned; enough time for everything to change."
"You're quite the smooth talker, aren't you?"
"But I'm certain Professor Yang is still in the hospital."
Zhang Ze remembered clearly that after his Crow entered the Administration Building, it was attacked by an unknown source, and he also heard a clear electrical sound.
Professor Yang is definitely hiding somewhere.
They were even secretly watching me.
Thinking of this, Zhang Ze released the Crow again. The Crow inspected every corner of the ward, the narrow gaps, the inside of the damaged equipment, and even the inside of the rotten and cracked walls.
In the end, nothing was gained.
They didn't find the person, but they found the electroshock device used for treatment. The device consisted of two parts: a charging base and a ring-like object that released the current. Most of the device was damaged, except for one charging port that appeared to be intact.
The strange thing is...
The only intact stun gun was taken away.
"Professor Yang, a doctor who carries a stun gun."
"Tsk, he really is Electroshock Doctor."
Zhang Ze sneered.
What he saw made him even more certain that this bastard surnamed Yang was doomed, even worse than Zhang Peng, the murderer in the family annihilation case.
Zhang Peng murdered a family of five in Fuan Apartments, while Professor Yang electrocuted Feng Xiaomin to death and drove countless patients insane with his electricity.
and...
This so-called "patient" is merely his own definition.
Just like Feng Xiaomin, who is not mentally ill, but just an ordinary person who likes to play games and has e-sports talent, her family sent her in saying she was mentally ill.
There are certainly many examples like this.
In total, Professor Yang's crimes are beyond description and his evil deeds are beyond reproach.
"Gah!"
Time passed, and it was midnight.
A small black dot appeared in the eyes of the Crow circling the hospital building. One after another, the small black dots moved from the cubicles to the windowsill, like rotting mold slowly crawling all over parasites.
The Crow's eyes trembled slightly, and several new Ghost Eye grew out. Through the combined vision of all the Ghost Eye, Zhang Ze saw the true nature of the black dots: a dense group of black figures.
"Um?"
Zhang Ze reacted extremely quickly.
The moment the black figure appeared, Zhang Ze used the Crow to move outside the hospital building.
"Is it a person, or a ghost?"
Dozens of Crow filled the sky, smashed through the glass, and flew directly into the area where the figure was.
Zhang Ze took another closer look.
"A living person?"
The eerie black figure that appeared from the outside turned out to be just a bald woman wearing a hospital gown upon closer inspection. The woman looked quite young, probably around the same age as Feng Xiaomin and Shen Yue.
But just like someone who had undergone chemotherapy, his hair was completely shaved off, and his scalp had an unhealthy yellowish hue. His eyes were empty and numb, and he showed no reaction even when Zhang Ze broke in through the window.
Zhang Ze leaned closer to take a look.
Sure enough, there were charred scars on his temples from an electric shock.
"This godforsaken place actually has living people."
What do they usually eat and drink?
"And yet, no one noticed?"
This time, Zhang Ze won't be able to handle it.
If it were an entire building full of Fierce Ghost, Zhang Ze would just pull out Sadako. He and Sadako, both Top-Tier Red-Clothed, could speedrun this dungeon in less than a minute, slaughtering them all.
But it's not a ghost.
It was a living person.
"Kuai Liang, come immediately to the East Suburban Campus of the Hanjiang City Third Mental Recovery Center."
Zhang Ze immediately sent a message to Kuai Liang.
"Damn it, what happened now!" Kuai Liang replied quickly, "I was on night shift with you last time, and I came back and fell asleep as soon as I got home. What happened this time?"
"A person suspected to be a missing person was found in the abandoned hospital."
Kuai Liang:?
"And there are many of them, at least a dozen!!"
Kuai Liang:???
Ignoring how interesting Kuai Liang's expression had been that day, Zhang Ze put away his phone and turned to look at the dazed patient. The Crow in the other rooms also checked the patient's identity.
The same hospital gowns, worn and tattered, many with blackened cuffs, reeked of a sour stench.
Both had suffered electric shocks to their temples, both had their heads shaved, and their skin appeared sickly pale and yellowish due to long-term irregular sleep patterns and lack of sunlight.
The more he looked at Zhang Ze, the more alarmed he became.
This place is Hell.
There's a hidden gem in the East Outskirts of Hanjiang City; if word got out, it would definitely shock the whole country!
"Clatter!"
What happened next made Zhang Ze's eyelids twitch even more.
It may have reached a certain point in time.
All the patients knelt on the ground, facing the window, muttering to themselves.
"I repent for the mistakes I made and am grateful to the doctors for their help in reforming me."
"Thank you, doctor, for giving me a new life and making me a new creation."
"I have come to a deep understanding of my past self; please allow me to continue."
Is this some kind of ritual?
Zhang Ze couldn't even imagine what these patients had become. Now they were kept like pigs and dogs in the ward, and even his previous "Crow examination" hadn't detected anything. Who knew how deep or hidden they were?
