Everyone was shocked to hear this.
"Boss Zhang, is this really necessary?"
"Why wouldn't it be? Becoming a red-clothed ghost means growing stronger. That's how you survive in this cruel world," Zhang Ze said. "If you weren't in my Haunted House, you probably couldn't coexist peacefully. You'd either be eating other ghosts or getting eaten yourselves."
In the original story, ordinary people still lived in a rational, normal world, unlike Mystery Revival, where the world had entered an age of widespread supernatural resurgence.
Part of the reason was that the Door-After World had not fully connected with reality.
Another reason was that fierce ghosts preyed on one another. Like leopards and antelopes on the African savanna, they kept their respective populations in check.
Zhang Ze wanted every ghost in his Haunted House to become a leopard.
And so, under Zhang Ze's insistence...
Old Zhou, Li Yang, and Wang Shan received his power infusion one after another. He channeled the resentment absorbed from the Underground Morgue into their bodies, and visible signs of red began spreading across them.

But on closer inspection...
The areas around Old Zhou's, Li Yang's, and Wang Shan's hearts had yet to turn red, showing that they were not fully red-clothed ghosts.
To put it in fantasy terms, they were half-step red-clothed ghosts.
Ordinary fierce ghosts need a catalyst to break through and become red-clothed ghosts. Xu Yin and Bai Qiulin were both like that in the original story. Looks like this trio needs a catalyst too.
Zhang Ze stopped feeding them.
Then he turned his attention to Feng Xiaomin.
Feng Xiaomin lived in the Computer World.
Once Zhang Ze finished infusing her with power...
Feng Xiaomin immediately started a game in training
