Background / History

Chen Ge inherited his parents' haunted house after they disappeared, regarding its continued operation as both a family responsibility and a possible route to finding them. His parents also left him the Black Phone, which issues supernatural missions and rewards him with new attractions and tools. 1 32 57

When Zhang Ze rented the bumper-car venue directly opposite Chen Ge's attraction to open a competing haunted house, Chen Ge chose to meet the challenge through open competition rather than sabotage. The pressure of this rivalry pushed him to attempt the Black Phone's Nightmare Mission and begin livestreaming his investigations. 1 4 24

After completing the Peaceful Apartment trial, Chen Ge gained the one-to-one recreated Midnight Escape scenario and a Skull-Crushing Doctor uniform, setting his haunted house on a path of rapid expansion. 17 He later expanded into the underground parking lot, acquired Zhang Ya's support, and continued opening increasingly dangerous supernatural scenarios. 32 37 49

Personality

Chen Ge is principled and competitive. He refuses to treat Zhang Ze's rival attraction as a reason for underhanded tactics, preferring to improve his own scenarios, capacity, and quality. Even after conceding that Zhang Ze's haunted house had defeated his own in a direct challenge, he remained composed rather than resentful. 1 24 55

He is highly protective of his employees and treats supernatural beings as individuals rather than props. Xu Wan's disappearance drives him into a rage, while his efforts to communicate with Clown Babu and other ghosts reflect his belief that even Fierce Ghosts deserve understanding and a place to belong. 56 72 73 116 119
